The power of scroll - below the fold
Above the fold is crucial for motivating readers to scroll down. Below the fold is more important for detailed explanations.
Many sources recommend inserting a call-to-action above the fold. I disagree. Actually, recent studies have shown your call-to-action should be placed below the fold.
Why is this important? First, because people scroll, and second, users read online content on various devices with various screen sizes.
Exploit above the fold to attract your readers’ attention and build trust. Reinforce trust below the fold.
Here’s a question: would you scroll down a website that doesn’t offer key information on the top? Not likely I guess.
Those who wish to explore your call-to-action are more likely to do it after gaining basic trust in your site’s content.
Ensure the rest of your content is scannable. Break it in smaller chunks that allow visitors to skim through it.
