Give them something to remember
People remember their experiences very selectively.
Here’s a test. Try to recall your favourite movie.
Now try to recall the most memorable parts of that movie. Which parts did you remember?
We usually remember the most extreme point of an event (situation, episode, post…) or an experience we’ve been part of, either as active participants or passive observers. Most memorable point for the majority of people is its end (be it pleasant or unpleasant).
So give them something to remember in your post. Give them something that will bring them back to you.
A memorable part can be anything really. For example, a piece of valuable information, a feeling they experienced while reading your post or visually attractive element.
Recall leaving a hotel room. Imagine leaving a hotel. The hotel receptionist could say
- -“Thank you for your visit and enjoy your day!” or
- -“Goodbye.”
Which one would you gladly forget?
Make your ending pleasant and enjoyable. Give added value in the end. That’s why successful bloggers offer a bonus after the end of their post. We all love it.
Have a good day!
