Promoting Our Amazing and Marketable Content
I am taking the positive perspective here. Our content has real value in our niche. We all work very hard to research, create, write, edit, etc and now we want it to hit the promotion scene. So that is an easy thing to do. Put it on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. and watch the dollars roll in. Hmm, wish it was that easy.
How can we achieve a little more success in our content promotion? Start thinking about who will benefit from this content from the moment you start writing it. This helps us keep our readers and future clients in mind at all times. Building an audience has to be a key ingredient here.
One way to do this is to use available online tools to build a Twitter audience or maybe open a Facebook business page and start developing friends with like interests. It is important to scour the Internet for people who are writing content in a similar niche to your own. Engaging with these influencers and following them on social media, can help build your own audience. During my research for this tutorial, I discovered a site called Followerwonk, a place where you can search the bios of Twitter users for keywords related to your niche. My own searches elicited a range of connections to engage with.
Social Media Channels
Which social media channels should I use, is the question we often ponder. As we think about the audience we hope to reach, we may then reveal which one to use. Is it Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram? Now that may take some experimenting over a period of time, but monitoring the outcome of our social media engagement will assist in determining not only the best channel to use but what content and timing should be used to promote our niche marketable content.
Obviously, I am not going to discuss paid social media or paid promotions. Most of us are operating under some budget constraints. That style of content marketing is for the big boys; most of us are still to attain to that. But there is another form of promotion that can be useful - Email marketing.
Email Marketing
I use SumoMe as my social media promotion plug-in. I know many of you also use it. SumoMe has a number of features that allow you to collect subscribers to your websites. As they opt-in to being part of your network, you are able to keep them up-to-date on new product releases or reviews. As they engage with you through new content, you are able to draw out their responses to it, much like a consumer survey. Maintaining this engagement through email marketing, may be the channel that will work best for you.
So as with all aspects of content creation,, researching the appropriate promotion channel is vital. Thus our energies will be spent on the important parts of our business development.
Finally, let's wrap up this discussion about content marketing strategies.
Very useful and reinforces previous understanding as well....
Greetings
