Example of a Good comment:

"Hello, So and So! Thank you very much for this post. I greatly appreciate the thorough review of this course. I wondered if it included a conversational section, but reading what you have written has answered all my doubts concerning this matter. But I still have a question; can I listen to the files of the conversational section offline? It would be a huge advantage for me. Thank you very much in advance."

Now here are some examples of comments that could be rejected:

- "Great post!"

I would very kindly say that input like this adds very little to the post. And the owner of a site might not be pleased to spend 2 Community Credits to receive this type of comment. A message that appears just before you send a comment on SiteComments warns you of sending comments like this. The WA message reads: "A comment is your unique opinion on the content and should contain a minimum of 50 words." So this type of short comment is against the rule.

- "Hi, So and so! Great article! I really like the color you have selected for the header of your site. And the font size is also adequate and comfortable to read. But regarding the imagery in this post, I cannot praise you. Your pictures should be bigger. And my recommendation is to also put a few more. Pictures on your posts help your reader to engage longer on your site."

This really is feedback. And could be the most incredible feedback in the world. But it will not be welcomed as a comment. Site owners will usually disapprove of comments like this.

- "Hi, So and so! I really like this post. It reminds me of an article I read the other day. It was about the most recent satellite launched by the Department of Defense of the United States for the Global Positioning System (GPS) constellation. Comparing this last generation of satellites with the generation I, the evolution has been astonishing."

If the site is about learning Spanish, then the site owner will not appreciate this comment. It is totally unrelated to the subject of the site and post. When commenting, you should be very specific. It is not even enough to give a comment related to the theme of the site. Your comment must address what is pointed out in the post. The WA message that appears just before commenting says: "Your comments should be focused on the content and be specific to what the content is about."

So, please avoid these mistakes. There are other things that you must avoid when writing comments. But the list would go on and on. For all the rest, use a bit of common sense. What do I mean? Here is an example. A male WA member that does not know much about golf left a comment on a golf site for women. The site owner responded. And you can read her answer by clicking here.
