Now for the final plugin...
Advanced Database Cleaner by Younes JFR
And, I warn you now, when I tried searching for this plugin with the “d” missing off “Advanced” it did not show. Boy, is WordPress search ever becoming precise... though most likely due to some plugins purposely naming their plugin close to other’s.
Once you have installed and activated this plugin, look down the left-hand sidebar of your WordPress Dashboard... under Tools, you will see “WP DB Cleaner”... click on it...
And, this is what my website’s WP DB Cleaner page looks like:
The General clean-up tab is the ONLY option I will be using for this tutorial.
This was the second plugin I tried and it did NOT clean up the transients nor the pingbacks as it claims here, which is how I come to discover the previous two plugins; However, if you prefer to use this one as the only other WP cleaning tool that would be fine.
Next, I clicked on and check marked “Element to clean” in the very top left row so that all options became selected and I clicked on the dropdown box with “Bulk Actions” showing and selected “Clean”...
...then I clicked on the “Apply” button... and, because I have already backed up my entire website, I selected “Continue”...
...when prompted with the warning shown in the screen print above.
Here’s what my WP DB Cleaner page looked like once I clicked on the “Continue” button:
My oldest WordPress website had well over 600 orphaned post meta data in its database!
Now, you can go back to your plugins and deactivate and delete your Advanced Database Cleaner plugin.
Then, scroll down and Activate your WP-Optimize plugin, and then in the left-hand sidebar, click on WP-Optimize and check out what is shown there once more.
POOF! All has been cleaned up... right?!
Now... for those of you who may be wondering why I didn’t simply purchase the WP-Optimize plugin and get it over with, well... I did contemplate doing just that. However, when I discovered the yearly cost for my 3 affiliate websites to use this plugin (that have yet to produce an income to speak of), I decided to find a workaround in the meantime.
I do hope you to can gain an advantage from this information.
You can deactivate your WP-Optimize plugin and even delete it... until you need it again.
Perhaps once a year you could re-install and use the WP-Optimize plugin as a regular maintenance tool. Just remember to ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR WEBSITE BEFORE optimizing your WordPress database.
