Building a website at Wealthy Affiliate is very easy. In this video I walk you through the process of setting up FREE websites here at Wealthy Affiliate. It really does only take 3 simple steps.
As a Starter member you get TWO free Wordpress sites on the SiteRubix.com domain, as a Premium member you get unlimited free website as well as the ability to host unlimited domains that you actually own.
Here are a few things that are covered within this video:
(1) What is included in the SiteManager area
(2) How to choose your domain name
(3) How to choose a website name
(4) How to choose a theme and what to look for
(5) How to access your administration details
(6) The differences between Starter websites and Premium
(7) The various aspects of the SiteRubix platform
If you have any questions about creating websites here at WA, please do let me know and I will be more than happy to give you a hand. :)
Is it ok to start creating three websites or should I focus completely on one of them until I get through all of the training?
The issue I see is that one critical component of success is quality content and a significant amount of it, as we are tying to eventually draw more traffic and be ranked higher in internet searches.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rick
When I confirm the website and it says log in to your website I cannot login. Instruction is: enable the cookies in order to login.
Kyle, I know nothing about Cookies. There is nothing there showing cookies or step to take to enable or disable cookies so that have me stuck.
On the other hand, on the first Page where there is: Hello World and write your comment. It says: this is your first post. edit or delete it, then start writing.
One thought on "Hello World" to get started with moderating, editing and deleting comments, visit the Comment screen in the dashboard.
The dashboard cannot be reach from this juncture. Therefore I can neither delete nor edit, nor start writing anything.
Still in the process of whittling it down and learning exactly what is it I need to do and how to direct everything.
Look forward to your advise,
Thank you
Sophie
It just seems strange to give free members the option to buy one if they can't use it here....
Also, what is the difference between the regular comment feature on the site and the Site Comments feature available with Premium?
Cheers
I have been away for several months due to a huge move and illness. I have several sites I built months ago, but I want to start a new one. My problem is: do I need to do keyword research for my domain name?? If not, how do I know I have picked a name people will search?
Ive trid playing around with it but I need a walk through showing me how to update and complete content and add pictures etc and then how to add affiliate links. Anyone know how I can find this please?
Im slow at on line marketing but will get up to speed quickly
Also, is there a fee to make this change?
Thanks in advance for your response.
Ex. nameofsite.siterubix.com
Am I risking a conflict with
www.nameofsite.com
?
The last thing I need is to risk legal confusion right from the jumpstart. :-O
I think that I am having trouble narrowing that niche, so I'm considering having my first site focus on a hobby I recently picked up.
What it is is I turn paper into mulch using water and then I drain a lot of it and add glue so it is similar to a clay only slightly different. It is basically paper mache but mulch instead of strips of paper. Is that something I could do?
(*edit: I decided to start a site about the paper and called it paper sculptures, now I need to figure out what I want to say about it and find out if there are affiliates and stuff)
You don't have permission to access /wp-logmein.php on this server."
Why do I not have permission? =( Tried with both Chrome and Torch, downloading firefox now just to be sure its not my browser. Any suggestions?
Ty in advance!
Thanks alot for helping!
As Kyle stated lesson 3. Hopefully this will be the first of many niches and sites. . This is not the place for perfectionism, for me anyway. The first time I tried this, I beat myself up. It sure is silly and I wasted a whole year. WOW !! Time is Money.
You stated that "as a Premium member you get unlimited free website as well as the ability to host unlimited domains that you actually own."
If I am not mistaking - we now get 25 Free Site Rubix Websites and 25 Custom Domain Websites as Premium members, isn' it? I need to be sure if we are still getting unlimited number of free websites and can host unlimited own domain websites at WA as Premium members. This is important, especially for us who are promoting WA. I would appreciate if this could be clarified. Thanks in advance Kyle.
I returned back to this tutorials and see how simple everything is. I just follow Kyle's instructions and implement them right after watching the tutorial. Thank you, Kyle.
Guys i have a qts regarding the website domain, since i'd be likely to go with a domain name without "/siterubix.com", so most probably ill be eaither purchasing a domain withint WA, or from outside.
My qts is whats the difference between Transferring domains to WA and Pointing domains to WA.
And what are the limitations pertaining to one or the other.
If i transfer a domain to WA, later on can i move the entire website along with domain to another domain registrar?,and hosting.??
Appreciate all your help and advice in advance :)
This, I feel, will eventually give me an added edge. I'm referring to when it comes time to begin building my foundation (website). I'm still researching some ideas for it, while thinking about what I can blog about (content wise) after I'm done sharpening in on a solid niche.
All in all, it's very challenging stuff, and there is some good instruction going on in Kyle's lesson presentation, "concerning the how too s." Thanks Kyle.
Thank you Kyle! :)
I have a question, I wanted to find out does this website have an autoresponder? If not how would you track your customers?
Also do you need a website if you want to do a blog? I'm really new to all of this so I'm sorry if I'm asking question that you think I should already know.
Thank You
Linda
If anyone can give me a link explaining this how to do it. It would be much appreciated.
Isaac "Red Cloud" Johnson
This is awesome !!!
Thanks.
1. When i am updating / creating my website can i edit/view/edit/view etc etc without it going live (i.e preview the site off line so to speak) as i will probably changing a lot till i get it looking and flowing correctly?
2. Lets say i start with siterubix for a month or two and i have traffic/subscrbers/customers etc. will they automatically be directed to my new domain name at dot com? i know the change over will be seamless but i just want to know if i will have to tell them all or if the links that they use will automatically change (hope it makes sense)?
3. God forbid and i dont think there is a hope in hells chance of my next question happening but it did cross my mind.....what happens to my website and content etc.......if the hosting part of WA was to ever disappear? there i said it ....SORRY but i had to ask......
Cheers!
I am not good at writing so how do I get my content on my website??
I am intending to build/improve websites for other people. The other “person” may or may not have an existing domain and they may have the site hosted by another provider. In the case where the other person already has a domain name and a hosting server things become complicated.
My ideas on approaching this would be to:
1. build and test the site initially on siteRubix;
2. point their domain name to the SiteRubix hosting service;
3. do the SEO work to finalise the content and increase rankings;
4. ftp the WP files over to the third party’s server;
5. delete the site from SiteRubix.
a) Is this what people normally do?
b) Can you see any flaws in this approach?
c) Presumably, there is no point in doing any SEO work whilst the site is a subdomain of SiteRubix?
d) Is it ok to do the SEO work whilst the server is SiteRubix (assuming the domain is pointing to the SiteRubix server?
e) Can everything be bundled up on SiteRubix and ftp’d to the other person’s server?
Sorry to ask so many questions but it all seems so simple if you are just setting up your own website. When it comes to other peoples, everything gets a little bit more hairy.
