OK so because I cannot embed a table into my page here I want you to do the following.

Get a note book and a pen.

Draw out a square about half the size of a piece of A4 and mark a horizontal line across the top of the square and within it and write in your goal ' To get 300 referrals by 31/12/13

And another line below that. Make your table have 5 columns.

Title your first column RESOURCES and list below all the resources that will help you in your goal. Facebook, twitter and such

Next column is PRIORITY, rank your resources from 1-? with 1 being the most important to you.

Next column is Reverse priority, now switch the priority so the highest number is the most important resource.

Next column is TIME, now this is for me 60 mins as I want to get 3 referrals a day and I think each referral is worth 20 mins of my time, this can be shorter or longer in minutes and is based on how long you want to give a referral your 'attention' and on how many you want a day. For me it's 3 at 20 mins so 60 mins. Now, your minutes need to be divided by the total of all your priorities added up. So I have 6 resources prioritised 1-6 which equals 21. My time is 60 minutes, so 60 divided by 21 is roughly 3. I take my first resource which is Facebook and I have ranked that a 1 (least priority) and I will multiply that by 3 (60/21) and put 3 minutes in the time column. My most important is Twitter at 6, so 6 times 3 (60/21) is 18.

Last column is CONTACTS, Now take you daily contacts, say 139 (this is your required contacts broken down into a daily total, NOT referrals but contacts in your database) and divide it by 60 (minutes) and you will get a figure, say 2.2. Multiply each of your times by 2.2, so 3 mins X 2.2 = 6.6 or 7. This is the amount of contacts to link with that particular source choice.

OK and as the glue seller said to the vicar, 'stick with me'

Example Twitter, priority 1, so reversed it becomes 6. My minutes (60) divided by all my rankings is 60/21 or basically 3. So 6 x 3 =18 . My contacts are 139 day so 139/60 = 2.3 and 2.3 x 18 = 41.4 or 42.

So I have 18 mins to get 42 Twitter contacts into my database.

Contacts will accumulate daily and this is who you will be sending your websites to and your articles and any other information.

It is a methodical way to achieve a large goal with measurements. Otherwise a large goal just becomes a wish or a dream.

I wish you well with this. Please contact me at wacontentdr@gmail.com for any clarification.

Wow, this is a great one. I love acronyms! That makes your points easy to remember. Breaking down our goals make them more achievable. Thanks for sharing, Mikey!

Excellent way to present this. I am big on goal setting and looking at my goals and tasks every single day. Sort of "How to Eat an Elephant.... one bite at a time". It is important to break down goals into bite size pieces so that we can avoid paralysis. Way to go here.! Actually never thought of using benchmarks, but maybe I am just not there yet. Don't even have the site completed, lol.

I would say you are I are the Goal Setting people here. Good job. It is taking the end goal and working backwards! How many people do I need to refer a month, a week, a day, even an hour to get to 300 by the end of the year.

And that all is mathematics! Great job!
