Now that you've been introduced to these ad blocking extensions you're probably wondering how they may be affecting your website when a visitor is viewing it.

Let's have a look! I will admit that I use Google Chrome and am a loyal user of AdBlock...so if I visit your site I might not be seeing what you think I should be.

For each of these examples the left side of the image is what I see in my regular browser with AdBlock running. The right side is in "Incognito mode" and AdBlock is not running.

Example 1: Paid Advertising

This website has Google AdSense code in the sidebar widget and Chitika ads displaying after each post.

As you can see neither the Chitika nor AdSense ads show up at all when AdBlock is running!

Example 2: Affiliate Banner Links

Now let's look at a couple of instances of affiliate banners being blocked. For the first instance let's look at the website we are all so familiar with (if you went through the Affiliate Bootcamp anyways): waystoavoidscamsonline.com.

The affiliate banner, even from good old WA, is being blocked by the AdBlock extension!

Let's look at one more example. This is the exact code (with affiliate ID blurred out) I will copy from Wealthy Affiliate into a text widget on my test site:

And here is what happens:

Again, you can see how the banner is completely gone. It's as if it didn't even exist and anyone who is running an ad blocking extension would be none the wiser that it even existed!

In addition to this if you have pop-ups on your website or Amazon Widgets in your side bar those are likely to be blocked as well.

So...what can you do about this?

Continue to the next page to learn how to get your affiliate banners to display without being blocked.

So if I have an Ad blocker on my firefox and I follow these steps, my visitors will still see pop ups from my site? It will not influence my advertising on other peoples computers?

Good question.

Ad Blocker only affects what you see in your browser on your computer. It doesn't affect anyone else's browser in their own computer. It also does not effect anything with your actual website.

For example, if you have ad blocker on your computer you may not even see ads that you have placed on your own website (depending on the settings in your adblocker) but a visitor to your site, who is not running adblock in their browser will see the ads.

Does that help? Let me know!

Yes that sounds good! Just your last sentence you said, if someone does not run ad block they will see my ad. So if they also have ad blocker they will not see my ad even after I changed the URL?

If you follow the steps in this training your banner images should be visible to almost everyone, whether they are using an ad blocker or not.

Thank you! Just trying to help. I don't think a lot of people realize that visitors to their website might not always be seeing what you are expecting them to see.

So if you aren't getting as many clicks on your banners as you thought you would this might be one of the reasons why.
