2 - Get Your Site Indexed

Before any site can show up in Google search results or even receive traffic from Google, it has to be crawled and indexed.

Google automatically crawls all websites on the internet, though it might take some time to discover new websites. So if your site is a couple of months old, it's likely that it hasn't been visited yet by Google crawler.

To submit your site for crawling, you need to first create an XML sitemap showing all the pages and posts that you want to be indexed.

You can use a basic tool such as the Google XML Sitemaps plugin for creating a sitemap for your website. After doing this, submit the generated sitemap to Google through your Google Search Console dashboard.

These actions should get your site indexed within a short period of time, though there's no definite time frame when it will happen.

3 - Use Both Internal and External Linking

There are two types of links, namely internal and external links and they both have different uses.

Internal links are useful for connecting different sections of a web page, or connecting different pages of the same site together. They make it easier for visitors of your website to navigate from one section to the other.

Also, internal links that connect pages together make it easier for people to locate important resources on your site.

External links also referred to as outbound links, are used to reference resources that are featured on your site. They are also useful because you use these outbound links to refer your readers to other sites where they can get more information.

Having a good amount of internal and external links on your web page is a good SEO practice that is guaranteed to give you positive results.

Most welcome onboard, Mmanana1! Glad you enjoyed and found this training helpful and informative! As for submitting or activating XML sitemap, if you're using the All in One SEO plugin, there's no much work to be done on your own part. All you need to do is click on All in One SEO in your WP dashboard, select Feature Manager, and then activate XML Sitemap. That's all. If you still have issues activating Sitemap using All in One SEO, don't hesitate to let me know.
