As you learned from one of our recently-published training resources, a sitemap is a particular file that shows a full list of the pages on your site; submitting it to Google ensures that your site gets more recognized by Google for the first-page ranking positions.
If you want to view your sitemap anytime, just add sitemap.xml to your verified domain name. An example of this is https://goldeniraretirement.com/sitemap.xml. When you publish new changes on your site such as a new WordPress theme and all of that, it's highly-recommended to always submit a sitemap to Google. This will, of course, increase the speed at which Google indexes and crawls your site.
If you're using plugins like All in One SEO, your sitemap can be submitted to Google with a click of the mouse. On the occasion that you publish new changes on your site, you'll need to manually submit a sitemap to Google.
