From a very humble beginning with the first personal blog by Justin Hall published in 1994, the number of blogs on the internet has steadily grown to its current figure of 152 million. Blogs remain the most preferred sources for internet users to access information on varied topics. Bloggers have also found ways to transform their hobbies into full-time jobs through owing and managing their own blogs.
Google AdSense remains the natural choice for early bloggers seeking to earn revenue from their blogs. While the decision to use Google AdSense as a primary revenue source has been profitable for some, other bloggers have opted for alternatives in order to diversify or improve their earnings.
Although Google AdSense maintains the Number One spot for being an online ad network, there are some identified drawbacks associated with using its services.
