4. Niche Manufacturer or Supplier Directories and Guides
Nearly all industries have different types of niche specific customer’s directories and guides, and most industries have as many as possible. If you deal in services or products that are a good fit for these guides, it can of course attract links. It’s your brand exposure to the specific audience that would create a passion in what you sell. Here are a couple of illustrations that show the diversity of these linking and publicity opportunities:
- The Spa & Pool Industry Search: Included in the info resource outlined is industry experts’ and 3,000 users’ requests, making available for them a capable resource to help find the information and products they are in need of.
- Firehouse Customer’s Guide: A straightforward-access directory to the technologies, services, and products available to enhance the delivery of EMS, fire, and rescue related products.
- BeeSource: With more than 14,000 registered users, BeeSource is the most agile Beekeeping forum of its kind in the online world. All the Beekeeping Suppliers and Equipment guides are found on the website as well. Certainly if a Beekeeping supplier’s guide exists online, your industry has got one too. Look for them using industry key phrases and terms like members, suppliers, customer’s guide, and many more in Google search.
What’s the bottom line? Opt for links you’d find helpful whether you are rewarded for them by the engines or not. Try building links that will improve your business, and particularly because of the bonds those links stand for.
Conclusion
Content alone cannot do the job if not promoted using the white hat approach. Never try to manipulate links in order to game or fool the engines; instead, earn links naturally and do not base that on just earning search engine rankings and traffic alone. Also, consider the connections and relationships those links stand in for in the fortune of your own business.
Thank you for sharing.
I was particularly interested in #4. I have a domain name dedicated to that idea and have never implemented it. It actually would complement my current website. If I developed the website directory, would it help my traffic on my current website if I linked them back to each other? Does this make sense? Sometimes I have trouble expressing what I mean.
Thanks,
