Weekend Progress as the Excitement Builts

Today I put my first affiliate links into a new post. (I'm going to look at adding them to a couple of older posts later). I joined a few affiliate programs last weekend and was waiting for approval on one, but I decided to stop waiting and simply add it in later once they approve me. The programs I'm joining are so far all for sites I've used many times myself, which makes me feel confident and good linking them to my site. I did discover a few more I want to check out both for my own use and as a possible affiliate. Exploring and learning is part of this whole adventure!

I'm doing well at posting at least once a week, and keeping the entries grounded in my niche while still letting the whole thing grow in an organic, personable and friendly blog-like way. I also shared the site with my writer's group yesterday which was another big step for me. I'm not ready yet to go down the social media promotion road. There's a lot more building left to do before I go there, but I'm making my way slowly and steadily.
