Who Are Your Customers?

What a silly question.

Every business owner knows who their customers are, it's the people who purchase their goods and services.

Have you ever heard someone say, "everybody needs this". My retort to such a statement is that everybody uses toilet paper but not everyone buys it

Take me for example, I decided to enter the quit smoking niche, therefore my customers are smokers. Right?

Wrong.

My target audience is only that segment of smokers who are thinking about quitting or have decided to quit. Not all smokers are ready.

The point is you must know your customers, you must be able to write a profile of your typical customer.

This is your most important element as a business, take the time to know everything you can about your typical customer. You should be able to describe a day in the life of your typical customer. They are that important to your success.

If you already have customers, start there. The return on this investment will inform your marketing drastically improve your bottom line.

Take this self assessment test. In the comments below write a short description of your typical customer.

If you getting this wrong it will hurt all your marketing. .

Namaste

Great exercise. I would say my customers are those women and men interested in yoga and yoga products. My focus is the yoga path for women because that's what I can blog about and have experience with, but men are great yogis too and can definitely find the information I share very useful. Also, most men like to gift their women in their lives with yoga stuff when those women are passionate about it or really want yoga stuff.

Interesting customer profile. It might be interesting to get an age range, what else do they do besides yoga, what they do for leisure and pleasure? The more you know of them, the easier to find them. Thank you for responding Liidia

My customer is probably a woman over 40 who's starting to experience foot pain and problems from working at a career where she's on her feet all day, like a teacher, doctor, nurse etc. Before she spends her hard earned money on expensive walking shoes, she wants an idea of the pros and cons of each brand and style. How's that?

That's sounds like she is also married with children, and each little detail makes her more real. Thanks for sharing
