Hello everyone, I don't know if anyone can help me with this, I changed the title from h2 to h1 in the single.php and now the code has disappeared!!!!

Someone please te

Have you try changing to another theme? As that code is only good for the present theme you're using. If you change theme, there's a probability that you will be provided another set of codes you can edit. Or, another option is, uninstalling and reinstalling that theme that you like using.

thanks -that is just what I needed to hear

Oh. You're welcome! :)

I would create a support ticket instead of trying to figure out what went wrong in the code and making it worse. If your website is hosted elsewhere, you will have to put that support ticket to your hosting company. If your website is hosted here, then simply open up a ticket here:

There isn't usually a reason to change the internal code of a WordPress theme. In the future, you should refrain from doing so for this very reason. Many people end up clobbering their instance of WordPress when they do this.

I am curious. What prompted you to take the action of changing code in one of the php files? Changing from H1 to H2 can be done using the WordPress editor.

Best Regards,
Jim

I could not agree with you more! Thank you.

Yeh agreed on that one techhound! Ah it's just me getting too big for my boots.

Well started using Bing SEO tools, run a scan on my site and it said that I had no h1 titles in any of my posts, so googled how to change this.

In wordpress you can't change the post title to h1 unless you do it in the code can you?

I think I may have just fixed the issue.... Start up another website with the same heme and copy and paste the code, seems to have worked.

lesson learnt!!!

In future, if you change theme php files - not really recommended because you need to re-apply the changes you make, if or when the theme changes in the future, people talk about child themes - copy the existing copy of the php files, that way you can revert back to what it was if all does not go according to file.

You could use something like FileZilla to copy the theme files to your pc/laptop/whatever.

I have seen some SEO tools suggest that there are no

tags. However, for most themes that is not true. After you publish your post (or preview of it) choose to View Post. On your post, right click and view the page source. It will bring up your page in full HTML mode. Do a search on this page for an

tag. It should have the post title showing as part of that

tag. For some reason SEO tools don't always pick that up. If it wasn't there, you wouldn't see the title on your page.
I have also tried to add

tags in the past but they are simply too big for anything that is not the title. I just didn't like the way it looked. You can experiment with it to see if it truly makes a difference for your SEO but my guess is that

tags are are going to be good enough.

Best Regards,
Jim

Yeh i'm just not going to bother again. h2 will do for me ;)

Yep i'm just going to stay with the h2's from now on, it isn't worth the bother.

thanks for the help

I was trying to verify my site - but thanks to Coach Gom - It's all fine now

hi everyone.
Earlier today I was working on a new logo for my website, I tried to upload to my site but it wouldn't work.

My website had completely disappeared!!! I

Something similar happened to me today and my website was gone. I was freaking out but site support fixed it in a matter of minutes.

Now I'm having issues using Site Comments and Site Content because it's saying cannot find a username.

I opened another ticket and received a message saying they are looking into the issues now.

Site support is really helpful and typically works very fast to resolve any issues. I'd definitely open up another ticket.

Hope this helps =)

Michael

haha yeh i'm freaking a little bit to be fair!! I've put a ticket in so fingers crossed eh!?

There hasn't been an issue site support couldn't fix yet so I wouldn't worry too much. Just like anything else, and especially when it comes to our business, I'm learning that patience is key. ;)

U need to put in a support ticket and they will fix it for u.

Carl

oops sry my bad, Carson just commented on the same issue somebody else blogged about and said to put a ticket in. I think they are having an issue with one of their servers.

ah thanks dude, I have put a ticket in a couple of hours ago.
Guess I'm just anxious

hi everyone,

Don't know if there's anyway this can be done, but is there anyway to add an Amazon affiliate link to featured image? Or stop featured from appearing on pos

Hey Tony,

You can indeed create an Amazon affiliate link to a featured image. On the wordpress dashboard, you go to appearance and then to customize. From there, you go to widgets and then sidebar. Select the image widget. Once chosen, you can put in a custom url with your affiliate code in it. I hope this helps.
