Where were you 10 months ago, Wealthy Affiliate?

I lost my job one year ago in September. And then I spent months looking for another job and finally found one, making less money than I was making at my previous employer. So I'm trying to find some ways to make ends meet and came across Wealthy Affiliate. (You're welcome, by the way, to whoever got the commission on my premium membership! LOL)

I feel like I am learning something new here every day. But I just think about how much more time I would have been able to spend on my website and social media pages and how much further along my website would have been if I had gotten started right after I lost my job.

Frankly, I wasn't really looking to do much for a couple of months after losing my job. I had a fat severance payout and thought I'd enjoy life for a little while. Then reality set in and I realized that severance wasn't going to last forever. What I didn't realize was that it would also be really difficult to find another job (apparently I wasn't paying attention to all the news here in the US about the unemployment rate).

I was focusing on getting my site up and running and I'm pretty happy with it and now I'm dabbling in social media while I try to get some affiliates going. At this point, I still don't have any traffic to my site (it's only been up a couple of weeks) so I guess I can't complain about that, but I am, by nature, impatient.

I'm trying to focus on a few things...

- patience

- developing good content

- securing affiliate relationships

- developing my social media presence (which is a necessary evil for me as I hate social media - don't judge!)

If anyone can think of anything else I should be doing, please let me know!

You came at the right time and now you will sail ahead, Teresa.

Just keep going. We encourage each other here. You sound like you are following the steps.

Thanks, I'm trying! Juggling it all is a struggle. Instead of trying to do my posts twice a week and spending 2-3 hours on them, I need to spend 1/2 hour a day. Otherwise, I'm not getting much sleep!

Thanks, Teresa!

Well said.Everything will be fine. Just stick with the training that Kyle provides. Good luck.

Thanks for the great article. Have a fantastic weekend.
Andrew
