Well, hello there, Yoast SEO
So I really had no clue what Yoast SEO was until I installed it in order to be able to add rich pins to Pinterest - here's a blog article I came across about it.
http://sociallysorted.com.au/rich-pins-on-pinteres...
Anyway, I didn't realize one of the side benefits would be that Yoast SEO would point out how terrible my pages are. I say that facetiously, but here I was thinking I was doing all the right things by using Grammarly. Meanwhile, I was overlooking all of the important readability and keyword statistics.
Yoast tells you things like:
- keyword density - how many times your keyword is referenced as a percentage of your page content
- Confirms your meta description contains your keyword
- Makes sure your focus keyword appears in your subtitles
- Assesses the text length and title length
And then, just when you get that all sorted and green lighted, you go over to the readability tab and find a bunch of other things wrong with your page. Yoast is rude, let's face it, but it's all in pursuit of better, searchable, content!
- it evaluates length of text between subheadings
- evaluates usage of transition words
- evaluates length of paragraphs
- evaluates sentence length
And a whole bunch of other stuff I hadn't even thought of.
Huh. I learn something new every day. Definitely a worthwhile plug in as far as I'm concerned! I wonder how Yoast SEO would feel about this blog entry...

Great article. Thanks for the info because I was thinking of downloading Yoast and now I will be prepared. Rude, I guess there is a reason. God Bless s
Thank you! I totally recommend it as it reinforces what's important on your pages like keywords and readability. Now, of course, I'm struggling not to have too many plugins. But this one also helps with content rich pins so it's worth it, imho.

It's always the case, just when you think you have it handled and along comes some other software to tell you to do it again, lol !
