Something missing, feeling a little lost.
When I joined Wealthy Affiliate I was so pumped and excited that I found a community that would be able to help me finally make blogging successful for me. I started working through the certifications of WA and was building steam and momentum. I was so excited and could see the fruits of my labors and had people to celebrate with along the way.
Then it started to happen.
Confusion settles in.I wasn't getting any sales from any of my post. My site started slowing down in its speed and started to become not great on mobile devices. Even though right before this happened my site was indexed with Google and I started to place well with Google. I was loosing people on my site because of the time it took to load.
I worked on all of these issues but due to the time it was taking to work on these, I stopped writing content because I didn't have the time for that after working on getting my site back to an appropriate working stage. Which I had to have hired out and that cost was not cheap.
So, I have no sales, a website that is costing me to fix, no new content coming in, and my ranking was slipping away quickly. Then on a personal note outside of starting my online business, I had to change careers after serving in my past one for 28 years. The new direction because I was starting all over again was not paying enough to support my family.
The perfect storm had formed. So now what? Where does someone go from here? I knew it wasn't going to be easy to start my online business, but I guess I was hoping I could have enjoyed the momentum period a little longer than I did.
So what I am missing is not so much time, because we all have the same 24 hours a day and many of you are making it very well with your online business. Those same people who are making it well has most likely gone through the same start up problems and struggles that I a going through, so, this is why I don't think it is time, but, direction maybe.
Advice welcomed.I am welcoming any "specific" advice that anyone can speak into my situation to help me see the light at the end of the tunnel. Looking to those of you who have made it through what I am currently going through to speak into my situation as to the "what now" type of advice.
I would love for the next WA blog post of mine to be over the success of how this community helped me to turn this perfect storm around and make it through to the light at the end of the tunnel.
Thanks in advance for any help that any of you may be able to provide. Giving me specific advice, links, direction etc. to look into.

Hi Todd!
I'm going to echo Steve and Paul here. Check with Site Support first (they're amazing)!!
Check your plugins, something could be slowing it down. Make sure your site is set to Extreme. Make sure your SSL & Site Protect are on.
Shaunna
I do have my settings correct but thanks for reminding me to check with WA site support. I keep forgetting that we also can use them.
Hi there,
My advice is to keep writing and keep creating more content. You might also want to look into what specific plugins you have on your site that may be slowing it down; I have a ton of plugins on my site and it's fast.
Also don't feel discouraged, just keep going, keep writing and keep creating content. You have made it through level 5 already which is excellent.
I wish you success,
PG
Thanks for the encouragement.
Once I get my site fixed Ill repurpose the time I am using fixing my site to creating content. I know content is important and I have been missing it there lately.
Will be following this post with great interest as I am struggling with similar issues. Part of my issue is that was not happy with direction I was headed. Right now I am in process of looking at other bloggers (not just WA) to see what they are doing and pick out points I like.
Have made a change of WP theme and learning all the options so my posting has come to a standstill, but keep adding to list of future blogs.
Keep on keeping on.
Barry
I too had changed my themes a few times trying to find one that I was satisfied with.
Here is to both of us "keep on keeping on".

You have to slow down and breathe. Blogging is a new business for you and you made a fast start. Things went well and then they didn't. That's a regular rhythm of life. You worked your job 28 years - if I walked into your work place how long would it take you to train me to take over your position? Perhaps you would advise me to learn what I need to learn and apply the training. I would need to do that until I understand what I am doing.
Reading your post, you put extra resources into your blog. When you are a beginner, and I am, the best way is to keep it simple. We all feel frustration from time to time because we would like things to move smooth and fast. Unfortunately life throws us curve balls. This is a real business based on our skill set. What we have is the opportunity to develop those skills that will allow us to create and maintain websites that earn money online.
You and I chose the entrepreneurial training it takes longer to make money but allows us more flexibility. There's a lot more to the entrepreneurial route; especially when, like me, you are starting from scratch. I think the quicker money is in the affiliate program. Stay calm regroup and remember the key to making it once you have what you need; training, support and resources - is sticking to it.
You and I can do this and five years from now we will be glad we did.
Thanks for the reminder and good word.
