Don’t let the title scare you. I am not going to sell you anything here. I just thought I’d get your attention. Did it work?
I realized something. Last post I said I would talk about autoresponders next but the post before that I said I would talk about products in more detail but never did. Sorry. I guess I got excited. I do love to write.
So I will go back and talk about product details then I promise to get to the autoresponders next. God willing, that is.
When someone mentions the word “products” it often brings to mind things you would find in a store. And you would be correct. But products can go beyond physical items. Yes, you can build a great living selling physical products online.
I met a woman in Oregon who made a more than comfortable living buying and selling on eBay. She also ran a second hand store that was jam packed with all sorts of furniture and odds & ends. As I said, she did well. Perhaps this is something you would be interested in. But I warn you, this takes tons of work. You have to research, then buy low, sell high, ship items and maintain an inventory. Lots of work. Again. Maybe you would like this.
A different aspect of physical sales is drop shipping. This is where you sell actual physical items to people. But when you make a sale, you send the order and payment to a drop shipper who packages and sends the purchased items directly to the buyer. You never have to deal with inventory, shipping, returned items and so forth. This might be a good business for you. I know several people in this king of business. Many of them making as much as $3 million a year or more profit.
Working with drop shippers makes you an affiliate for their products. You market their products, make the sales, collect your commission and deliver the sales to the company for processing.
There are services you can make tons of money on. You could be a Travel Agent, sell real estate, run auction sites or membership sites.
There is no limit to your imagination of what you can sell for a profit. But one of the best methods of making money is to follow other successful people and how they did it. Affiliates make great amounts of money by selling other people’s products and services.
But there is a way to make even more money. There is a way to keep 100% of the sales if you want.
I know the title was an attention getter it was also to spark an idea in your mind. What if you could sell your own products?
Did you know that most of the IM gurus sell their own products? Now, you might be saying things like, “I don’t know how to create products”, “I have nothing to sell”, “you mean I have to create products?”, or “how the heck do I do that?”
Surprise! It’s easier than you think.
Do you blog allot? Do you blog about a specific niche? If so, you have a product. Where? It’s in your blogs posts and/or articles.
Pick a niche you have been blogging about. Get all of your blog posts together in one document and edit it into an eBook. When you are done you have an eBook to sell. It is your material, original, real, and you own all the rights. Now all you have to do is put a value to it.
This is one very simple method of creating your own product. Remember what I said a couple of posts ago. The number one selling product in the world is information. And people pay big for it.
Another way to create products, providing you can afford it, is to outsource your work. You can hire someone to ghost write an eBook for you. You get to keep all the rights as if you wrote it yourself. That means you get to sell it for any amount you choose and get to keep all the profits.
The same goes for software. You can hire someone to create a program for you, then you can sell it for all the profits. The only problem with this is it costs a pretty penny to do this. Several thousand, even tens of thousands of dollars.
Anyway, these are just a few ideas of things to think about. There are far too many product ideas to list here so let your imagination go wild.
Sometime I will write about how to create your own eBook and make it even more profitable than just writing a book and selling it.
