Blogging Changed My Life
I have always been great with written words. Give me a pen and paper and I can express my thoughts perfectly. Knowing this, I have always wanted to blog. It just seemed like the perfect fit for me, but I never really knew what to blog about.
I had interests in Interior Design, Party Planning, Crafting, and DIY Projects, but I lacked experience. The only experience I had in anything was Customer Service at a grocery store. And let's be honest, nobody wants to read about my daily interactions with customers, even if they are epic stories that will make you say "what the fudge?!"
So I never started a blog. I became a mom.
As a mom, I not only have an interest in my child's day to day activities but I am gaining experience along the way! I have a passion for my son's future and want to live life through his eyes and explore the world with him by my side. I want to share these experiences with family and friends and anyone who will listen!
Well folks, I guess I found my niche for a blog!
So where do I start? That was my big question. I did a lot of research on how you make money blogging and how much you can make. I researched different sites to use and brainstormed ideas on what to write. But I never found what I was looking for. I literally wanted a "Blogging for Dummies" handbook that would walk me through each step as I started my blogging venture. I was too scared to start on my own with no experience and too confused by some of the lingo. What is an affiliate and why are keywords so damn important??
Well, my search was over when I came across Wealthy Affiliate. A friend sent me a link to an article about "making blogging my full time job" and the article sent me here. I signed up for a Free Trial and within 5 days of using the program, I already completed 10 lessons, started my blog and learned a lot about making blogging my full time job. I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of support I was getting from the members within this community and the education here is phenomenal. It has been a wonderful experience so far and I am striving to continue my education here while I build the foundation for my blog.
So how did blogging change my life?
Before I started blogging, I felt lonely and bored with my day to day life. Being a mom is hard work and most days my work goes unnoticed. Even when I would do something creative and fun with my son, there was no one there to share the experience with or tell about it. I would use social media as a way to communicate my day to day activities with friends and family, but it still didn't give me joy going through it alone.
Once I started blogging, I felt like I had a purpose for being a mom. Not just to raise and love my son, but to share and help other moms in their journey. I remember using search engines online to find answers to my MANY questions and feeling a sense of relief when I would read an article about a mom who experienced the same thing I did. I felt less alone and a lot more normal! Realizing that I can offer that same feeling to other moms is so powerful and inspiring! Blogging has also been an outlet for me. It's my hobby and personal time that I actually enjoy. And to think that I can make money doing something I enjoy is the icing on the cake!
This is just the beginning for me. Who knows what will happen 3 months, 6 months or even a year from now. With the help and support of Wealthy Affiliate, and with a lot of passion, dedication and effort, I see great success in my near future.
