What does it mean to be self-employed? Does everyone think you are well off, maybe you are or maybe you just work really hard to keep things together?

You are Brave, a person of Vision, an Entrepreneur, a Risk-taker, someone who wants more from life than what is being prescribed by society, you are Strong and have taken life by the horns and dragged it screaming along with you.

Personally, I think that the best part of being self-employed is ultimately being in control of your own future.

If the company has to downsize, you'll know about it. There are no surprise terminations or lay-offs that leave you struggling to find ways to feed your family.

Too true, that is a big bonus, I have seen a few people lose their job just to see a friend of the family take the spot a few months down the track.
At lease this way you have a measure of control.
