It is very hard for anybody unaccustomed to success not to feel guilty when they succeed.
I feel guilty when I succeed. It's a socially acceptable emotion. But it is annoying. Because there is no basis for it!
It is a meaningless and wasteful emotional state. Success is just like breathing.
It's an activity that should be automatic. Breathing can be consciously controlled but it is largely automated by the autonomic nervous system.
There are safeguards and reserves in place such as duplication of the phrenic nerve (left and right), left and right ribs and two lungs.
We can survive without the one lung, ribs and phrenic nerve. But it would be a limited existence BUT it would still be automatic.
That brings me to success.
It is automatic and it has built in reserves.
Cut success in half and you can still survive and after the initial shock you can adapt and survive.
Limited but content.
Guilt has no basis appearing before or after success.
Success is an EXPECTATION from ALL humans.

The level of success can be varied but it is automatic and should be treated as an expectation.
You must EXPECT to succeed.
Unlike the body which is limited to about 110 to 200% capacity (with training and augmentation) the mind can increase capacity from 50% to infinity>LT##/span##GT##
Having guilty feelings after succeeding beyond your expectations may sound noble, but it is far from it.
That is why some individuals start to self sabotage.
That is why the majority never even get out of the gates, or fail to launch their dreams.
Fear of the unknown is a normal trait and it helps us survive everyday.
But that said, in order to find treasures beyond measure we have to explore an idea beyond.
We have to dare to look behind the curtain.
What is your curtain?
What is driving you to look?
Fear or curiosity?
Despite being fearful, do you find yourself feeling excited?
According to Mel Robbins, fear has the exact physiology as excitement.
It is a common misconception to think that one is fearful when the same feelings can be attributed to the excitement and the body is none the wiser.
That is why the best among us associate butterflies in the stomach to excitement and use it to spur themselves into action.
That is why Guilt is a wasteful state of mind.
It is counterproductive, even if it hides behind the best intentions.
So get over your guilt, increase your involvement in philanthropy and continue growing in success.
It's natural and that's why it feels like a weight off your shoulders.
