Finding motivation

Being brand new to WA, I have not idea how helpful this program will be for me and/or what I can offer to the community. I have already noticed though the trend for uplifting other and providing support.

It's important to me to be a contribution to others, so I'll just jump in and share my 2 cents!

As someone who has set many goals and been successful with many of them, I know all about feeling motivated and in action.

And as someone who has set many goals and been unsuccessful with many of them, I know all about feeling unmotivated and not in action.

Often we will search for answers. If you are like me, you may be searching for; mindset shifts, positive thinking posts or scrolling hopelessly through your social media timelines for a spark of ingenuity.

Problem:

The problem with those efforts, are they exist inside our minds. And our minds is the worst place to be. We read something, we feel inspired, but that doesn't always equate action.

Solution:

Take action.

You might ask me, well I have to "get" motivated to take action.

You actually don't. If you take ANY action, in any area of your life, you will find your motivation. It exists in action. And from that place of action you can newly conquer your goal. When we shift, physically shift our bodies and minds, we have access to new ideas, motivation, solutions, ah-ha moments etc.

My Top 3 Suggestions for Action

1. Take a walk. It's the last thing you will want to do and it will make the best difference. Rain or shine, be in the habit of walking when you feel stuck If that's hard for you, invite a friend to be a walking buddy and each of you can motivate the other by checking and inviting the other for a walk. Make a game where when someone asks you don't say no, you just go!

2. Wash your dishes. There is something therapeutic about hand-washing dishes. If you hate hand-washing dishes, try loading or unloading the dishwasher. Having an empty sink or empty dishwasher will help you feel a feeling of accomplishment. I personally believe that soapy water heals all things.

3. Tidy for ten minutes. Set a timer and tidy an area of your house for 10 minutes. Seeing some order out of chaos will make space for new ideas to come your way.

Good luck! If you tried these, please let me know in the comments how the experience was!
