I am outing myself as a Landmark graduate. (I am happy to share more about the course and what if offers anytime!) And as a Landmark graduate there is a belief that we create our worlds through our language.

In one seminar, I had one of the most powerful leaders say something repeatedly through-out the course that has stuck with me day in and day out.

"Because you say so".

When we declare something, "I'm shy", "It takes me a long time to find a new job", "I'm not a morning person", "I hate writing" etc. It is all through our declaration that makes it true. We may have evidence of some of those things happening or not happening in our lives, however we can simply declare new realities for our lives and have those things be true.

I will give you an example from my own life. In the past, I would say, "I hate running" "I am not a runner" "I can't run" etc. At one point I wanted to take on running because it seemed to be a good workout option. I also wanted to play with the power of my thinking. That summer when I would start running (slowly), and wanted to stop, I would start thinking to myself, "I LOVE running", "I am the best runner" "It's amazing how easy running is".

Now from that place I kept running. And that summer I ran 4 miles, the most I ever ran in my life. More importantly, I got present to how powerful my words are, we have the ability to declare new realities for our lives in an instant and we can begin to find evidence for that new reality once we make the declaration.
