My journey so far
Hi Everyone,
Since I've reached my second week with WA, I can truly say that I've learnt so much already, and I know that there is so much more to learn, but it's been a fun ride so far. I didn't think finding a niche would be as tricky as I thought, obviously we all have things which we enjoy or are passionate about, however some of those things I doubt could be monetised, but I'm happy for someone to prove me wrong as it would help me break my limiting beliefs; similar to Roger Bannister breaking the 4 minute mile.
I have to admit that I cheated a bit, I did watch all the videos, some more than once...however, I haven't completed the contents on most of my pages. Just to give everyone who's reading a heads up, I've decided to have my first website about being a parent and helping our kids to have higher financial IQs; buildingwealthykids.com (still very basic and bland), which I hope in turn will give ideas to the parents to inspire to eventually practice what they preach, and become wealthy themselves. I don't know some of the questions which needs to be asked though, such as:
Do I understand the core problems within my niche? honestly at the moment in time, no, I just knew that I needed to pick something and hope that it evolves over time into something magnificent if I keep working at it and improving it.
Can I effectively communicate with others in my niche? I've never been a word smith, and blogging is an entirely different skill to master. I've been analysing other posts and blogs, and have learnt some new things, but I wouldn't say that I'm confident in my ability to communicate something of value.
I'm still new to this community, so have fewer followers than the senior members, however, I'm unsure if I'm posting my questions in the right area,as I was hoping to get more feedback or answers from the more senior members of this community. I'm grateful for those who have replied, but I'm also looking to get some pearls of wisdom from those who've been where we are but who have succeeded. If you would be so kind as to share your experiences, such as what it took for you start seeing some money rolling in for example (I know there are many ways to get paid, but it's just something to look forward to).
I guess I'm not too sure if this is a great niche to be in, however, its something which is close to my heart, as I want to achieve financial freedom, and then show my amazing step kids the way for them to achieve it, and also to maintain it.
I'm proud that I've made it this far, I did try other affiliate communities in the past, but gave up because it got a bit overwhelming. I've never been someone who was good with computers (I've actually always behind in all things related to technology and social media).
Not only have I tried affiliate marketing in the past, but I've spent a lot of money on trading courses, and donated money to the market 5 times more than what I used to pay for the course. Sometimes, I feel like such a failure, even though I'm constantly finding ways to exit the rat race by reading books, and using the law of attraction (i guess it worked since it helped me to find this place)...even though Tony Robbins says that there is no failure there's only feedback, well I've been getting A LOT of feedback, with not just about obtaining money, but also with my relationship with family.
Btw, I only just started my G+ account today, and it is looking very bare with the amount of followers or lack of, if you would you be kind enough to follow me on https://plus.google.com/u/1/109661936801563518163, and I'll be happy to return the favour.
Sorry, I won't take up much more of your time, but it's finally nice to have a community who I can communicate with who are trying to achieve similar goals to what I hope to achieve.
To finish off, I thought I re-share some of my goals which I had set out from the start, I by doing this, I'll have everyone's AWESOME help to keep myself accountable and on track towards my financial goals.
My plans and goals in the upcoming 3 months:
I hope to have finished my website, and be proud of the content which I've entered, and be well on my way to finish most of the courses
My plans and goals in the upcoming 6 months
By 6 months I hope to start ,monetising from my website, my aim by this time is to achieve $500 per month consistently after 6 months (more would be a bonus).
THANKS AGAIN!! AND HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY

Hi Nam! as you are starting your website, ideas will flow to you freely if you enjoy what you're doing. I can see that there's lot of work to do on it but I find your niche really great! I like your chosen niche and I believe that it has good numbers of audience. I also like your domain name, simple, easy to understand and short - easy to remember. To make your site more colorful, consider putting photos on top of your article that describes the message you want to convey.
Hope this helps and just let me know what you need so I can help you.

Great suggestions...you've actually read my mind about adding some more colour to my site.
hi there and welcome.
I enjoyed reading your post and wish you all the luck in the world and i am now following you
Followed you! Here is my link : https://plus.google.com/u/0/108643368901147342501/posts
I think that the more you will be writing content and study more marketing, your confidence in terms of communicating value will soar. Just keep learning AND applying. That is key to success.
I'm looking forward reading more of your posts about your journey.
very true, I'm trying to think of new things to write about every day, however it's not that easy as everyone's probably experiencing.
I just followed you back on G+, I'm impressed how do you manage to achieve close to 80K views?
I don't think writing content is easy for everyone (it sure is a challenge for me). And if it were that easy, everyone would be doing it. Those who write for a living may write faster due their experience but it doesn't mean that you won't get there without practice. Try using the alphabet soup technique that Kyle teaches for content ideas. That may be helpful.
I have no clue how I got 80K views on G+. I've had this account for at least 5 years so I think that may be the reason? I never posted anything before last week for WA.
thanks for your honest answers, I've been focusing writing content that I want people to love, and just just like, so that is my goal at this moment in time...I think I'm going to put the social media thing on the back foot a bit, until I'm happy with what I have written, then start sharing after that.
I'll give the alphabet soup technique a go and see what I can get out of it,
and thanks again for your time, I hope I'll be able to help you back one day
Congrats Nam, for going premium and for posting your first blog within Wealthy Affiliate. Well done and to be continued. To your success, Desmond.
Hey Nam, another Aussie, awesome, your comment box isn't there where do I leave one... just thought I'd mention it .
Bea
Yes, on your website, Nam there is so much you can write about, your niche, for one, you can actually write a 50 page ebook about the topic, offer the first chapter for people to sign up to your subscriber list, then after they sign up you can forward them to a page where you can offer it for a small cost .. It's a topic a lot of parents would like to teach their kids especially that this is one subject that hasn't been taught in schools... If you want any help pm me, and believe me it won't take you to write 40/50 pages ... :0) Bea
Thanks Bea...it's people like you which reminds me why this is such a fantastic community to be apart of. I'll have to find out why I don't have a comment box on my website, and get that fixed.
I'll start jotting down topics for the chapters and I'll run it past you, I want to make sure that people love what they read, so any advice I can get from you, I will definitely take on board.
I've read your profile, and I would really like to help you achieve your goals, as I know how tough it is to be on a carers pension. Let's stay in touch and move forward together.
Thank you Nam that's so nice of you, I will definitely keep in touch...yeh I had to give up my online business about a year back, made some good money, but circumstances change I guess, anyway keep putting those articles in to your blog, and write like a parent has just come into your office and is asking for advice... Pick a topic and go with it, to get some inspiration visit entrepreneurs journey, yaro is an awesome guy, lives in Melbourne also... So is Daren who owns problogger.com he's in Blackburn... Bea
thanks for your feed back...there's still a ot of work I know I have to put in, but hopefully I'll get there. I hope to see your site up soon too

Hi Nam,
I think you're off to a great start...I took a peek at your website and found it very interesting so far.
As for being a writer, you're doing just fine! I truly enjoyed reading on your site, so keep up the good work!
I also followed you on G+ too.
Please don't think of yourself as a failure...you've accomplished a ton of hard work already in the short time you've been here. You should be proud of all you've accomplished!
Now, think about it, how many actual people do you know that have built their own website...probably not many, if any! I sure don't know any besides the awesome people here. Anyways, I honestly believe that the only way to fail is to quit reaching for whatever goals you may have.
Looking forward to reading more on your site...keep up the good work!
Best wishes :) ~Sherry
wow, thanks for being such an awesome person.
I definitely agree with you about what it really means to fail, and I don't ever intend on quitting.
In a way I am proud of what I've accomplished so far, but I guess I'm a little frustrated with myself for not knowing yet how to do certain things, as it's not quite how I wanted it to look, but I know that will come with time.
I can definitely tell that you have a real passion for animals, so do I. I now know where to turn to if I need more info on how to better look after my furry four legged friends.
thanks heaps for sharing your thoughts, I will keep at it and I hope we can share more feedback and successes in the future.
Hi Nam,
Awww, you're welcome! I'm glad to hear that you have no intentions of quitting...I didn't truly think you did since you're quite passionate in your writing here! But, some days we let our doubts get the best of us and start feeling down.
I understand too on the website not looking the way you intend, although I think it looks Great. My websites took quite some time appearance wise, although there's still a few things I'd like to change...my first one looked completely different a few times now, since I realized the first themes I chose were actually making things harder for visitors to read things.
I'd not worry too much about the appearance yet, you can always tweak things to your liking as you go. As long as things are easy to read and your site is easy for readers to navigate around it'll be fine.
Lol, yes, I'm rather passionate about animals and glad to see you are too. Thanks for the kind words...and it'd be great to share feedback and future successes!
Best wishes :) ~Sherry
Thanks again Sherry,
I left a comment on site, every little bit helps I guess to improve your ranking on Google
