Here's to Audacious Success!

I have just watched a video with Gary Vaynerchuk (GV) talking about what it really means to create a successful business, and believe me, he didn't pull any punches.

GV explains that only a few people in the business world become millionaires (not my aim, but I do believe that a lot of what he says also applies to having a sustainable and growing business - and that I do want) and the reason there are only a few is because it is hard!

- it's hard to be patient

- it's hard to have a hard work ethic

- it's hard to be talented

And I like that. I like the way he doesn't pull any punches. I like that he states the reality behind having a successful business. If you want to achieve your grand results, you need to work hard and be patient.

Your business is like your child. You wouldn't plan to put in a few months work on your child and then think you're done, would you? Creating a truly successful business is about realising that this stuff is for the long term. This is possibly a life-time commitment.

I actually get this now. I don't think I did at first, but I do now. I was definitely tempted by the 'shiny object' marketing. I definitely got pulled into the belief system of quick success. I wanted to believe it - so it was easy to believe it.

Now though, I don't believe that, and I also don't want to believe that. I want to create something long-term. I want to create something of value. I want to create something of depth. And that IS going to take MY time, MY commitment and MY love.

The great thing is that my PASSION is learning. My learning becomes deeper the more I share. It is a reciprocal kind of learning. It is about asking questions when I need to clarify something. It is about musing and wondering. It is about writing and journalling. It is about trying out things, implementing, making mistakes, trying again, hopefully getting it right bit by bit, so being here at Wealthy Affiliate, and sharing the wealth of learning here to others is such a wonderful way for me to move forward and build my own business.

It is great that I am part of a community of like-minded people to share with, to learn from, to teach, and I know that the ones who are successful understand that although it is about hard work, commitment and love, that that is okay, because working hard on something you love is SO much better than working hard on something you don't love.

My overarching desire in my life, right now, is to live my life on my own terms, and for that I am willing to put in the work.

My desire is audacious! I may be in a community that believes this success is possible, but for most of the population this desire is totally audacious. And I want to now commit to not only creating my business that gives me a life that I live on my own terms, but also making it possible for other people.

But you have to commit. You have to put in the work. You have to commit to putting in the work ongoing. You have to be patient. You have to look towards the horizon and think long-term. You have to keep going. You have to bring your own special brand of excellence to everything you do, and then do it a bit more.

Audacious success requires that. Look at Kyle and Carson. They are great role models, and their input here shows. Look at the amount of content they have produced. And look at what they have created.

Now back to my next lesson. I have more to learn. :)
