A Wee Bump in the Road!
It's important to me to be honest, and as I want to chronicle this journey of mine - building a business from scratch, with the help of WA - then it's important that I details the lows as well as the highs.
I am currently working my way through the Affiliate Bootcamp, and for a while I was on a really good roll. I felt the momentum, and was definitely happy with my progress. Then it came to writing the review. There was a template to follow, and everything, so it should have been the easiest thing to do - ever!
However, as an ex-teacher, who spent about 20 years within the educational establishment in the UK, the blocks went up. Instead of this being an easy task for me, it became my nemesis. I rebelled! I wrote around it, detailing all the great things about WA as training platform, but I baulked at actually writing it using the given template.
Funny, isn't it, what we do to ourselves to get in our own way? There was nothing wrong with the template. In fact, it's a very good one to follow. But after years and years of churning out templates for students within English lessons, something just didn't sit well with me using it.
My perception of THE template was that it was restricting my creativity - WRONG!
My perception of THE template was that I was following the factory line mentality - WRONG!
My perception was just plain WRONG! Eventually I did get on and write a review. It didn't follow the template completely, and I justified this as being okay because my site isn't about online scams. My focus is about online learning, and I want eventually the site to grow to offer up really good alternatives for anyone who doesn't want to follow the traditional routes in education, but still receive a really great education.
Eventually I realised that what was standing in my way was me and my own thinking, so I decided to change my thinking. I'm back on track now, and facing my next nemesis - writing about selling. I so need to get over myself!
Does anyone else relate to this? Or am I the barmy army of one?! It might not be the review template that trips you up. You might have tripped over yourself in a completely different way. But, if nothing else, I hope this blog let's others know that the biggest obstacle to YOUR success, is generally YOU.
Write, now off to my site to write my blog post for the day. Hope you're all having FUN, and if not, change your thinking so that you are!
Oh, and if anyone fancies dropping by my site and reading my review for WA's learning platform (and leaving a comment) you can find it here:

Very well written article. You convinced me so much if I wasn't already a member I'd be signing up right now.
Thanks, Carol! I really appreciate that.
It's good to know I'm on the right track, and that by following the training and getting traffic to my site, there should be some conversions.
:)
I love your website! My gosh i read it all. Very well explained. I just learned a couple new things sense reading it. I do have a question for you. Where it says leave a comment there's a place for name, email and website what do i put in for website? Dose that mean your website? Im feeling this is a silly question. I wanted to leave a comment but i wanna make sure im doing it right:)
Hey Tamara,
Thanks for your comment here. It really does help when you have positive feedback! There are no silly questions - only the one's we don't ask are silly - and it's your website that you put in the comment box.
I guess it's for tracking purposes. Not sure what you do if you don't have a website, and I'm sure there must be a lot of people who visit sites who don't. Ummm! I might ask that one myself.
Heck, I'm constantly tripping on things! I'm not doing the bootcamp yet, but I think your use of the template was good. We don't have to color in the lines, either! :)
