Act the Part to Get the Part

Live like the Grizzly you want to be, rather than simply being the bear that you are.

It is easy to think of all you want in life, and feel that things will be better once you have what you are set out to accomplish.

Truth be told it’s not actually accomplishment that makes us happy, its who we become and how we live our lives. Our accomplishments bring satisfaction that is short lived.

We have to think about who we would be, and how we would live if we had accomplished our goals, and had become who we truly want to be.

Then we need to start working toward living as if we were already who we want to be.

It may sound just a little crazy, but this is how I went from surviving to thriving in at my high school job.

I went from being the lowest man on the totem pole to the top dog. Although I didn’t manage the place, but I had the choice. I had the opportunities to control next to every aspect of my job, and those I didn’t I knew how to live with.

I commanded respect and loyalty from my coworkers, and created lasting friendships with customers. I sold more than everyone else, and was known for my skills of communication in every instance.

Although not fully competent of it at the time, it all came down to my mindset. I started out feeling stuck, and ended feeling on top of the world…literally. (But that’s another story for another day.)

I recently listened to a interview with
Millionaire: Derek Rydall.
You can check out this interview at;
http://eventualmillionaire.com/derekrydall/

In the interview he talked about how we need to live as though we were already who we wanted to be.

He shared a story about how he had a low point where he went from being an up and coming actor to a waiter at a three start restaurant serving the very people he used to work with.

He too realized that he had to change his mindset.

Once he had a vision of where he wanted to be, and who he wanted to be he started living like who he aspired to be.

He became the best server the restaurant had ever had yielding him more tips, happy customers, and recognition from corporate for his exceptional service (having received phone call after phone call from dozens of satisfied customers.)

I can relate to Derek, because the restaurant I worked at during high school also received phone calls from people who were satisfied with me and my exceptional service.

They weren’t even gonna tell me, but one day a customer told me that they were gonna call in and be sure I was recognized for my hard work.

Only Minutes later my manager picked up the phone and I over heard the whole thing. She told me about, I was happy about it and she was like, “yeah…it happens all the time.” I was like, “what do you mean it happens all the time!!!” I said something along the lines of, “So we get calls like that all the time,…about everybody,”…her response, “Yeah, and all the time, and no not everyone, just you.” (Sorry just a little venting there…moving on.)

He also said that because his coworkers couldn’t deal with working with him, (cause he was out doing everyone) he was fired and within a month he was taking his first steps toward living his dream.

Mostly likely having received job opportunities from his performance at the restaurant.(…I too can relate.)

What I took away was essentially, what you do about where you are now, and the opportunities that you have before you, will directly determine how quickly you can become who you want to be, and live the life you truly want to live.

Of course as with everything this is gonna involve some work.

We’re reforming our character and shaping who we are, this will take both effort and time, but the results have the power to be life changing.

I invite us all to work at developing a vision of who we want to be, and the life we want to live, then to take action in an effort to gradually become who who we want to be now rather than later.

Surely as we work on becoming who we want to be, and who we must be in order to enjoy what we achieve, we will develop the mentality we need to have in order to live as we would like to live.

As with everything, remember to take things one paw at a time, don’t get too overwhelmed.

Not sure I can relate but I do understand.

Thank you Even!
In the beginning of my "wa-time", I was thinking: I hope I'm doing it correctly and it will work some time..."
After a while, I started to think more like "When I'm earning 200$ a month I will..." And after that mind change, I have made some (small) progress :)

Good job, we gradually have to reshape our mindsets. The more we work on developing our minds and your thoughts, the more we will be able to unlock our potential.

Thank you Evan :)

Great post. It makes sense to me. I started my online venture on 2 Oct 2015 and have made $1.28. I conduct myself everyday as if I've made a million. If i dwell on the $1.28 I would never be able to motivate myself to keep at it. I also shower, shave and dress everyday as if I'm going to the office. When I've made my million I'll start working in my PJ's. Have a wonderful and productive day.

I hear you. You gotta try and develop that million-dollar-success mindset and then live by it. That being said, I would never plan to stop doing what I do in order to get in state, be productive and make a million. What you wear affects your mental health, and I'm confident that you wouldn't be able to have the same focus in your pj's.

Thanks for your comment.
I wish you all the best as you work on your business.

Excellent post. I have listened to Darek Rydall many times and his emerging programs. It is true that material possessions should not be the goal, being in service for the greater good is what will bring manifestation of your dreams. We are constantly supported in our endeavors. Be the change you want to see, share the love you wish to experience and give the things you want to receive and the rest will follow.

Thanks for your supportive comment! Glad to hear that you have enjoyed the works of Derek Rydall. These concepts though powerful and result yielding an often times not naturally our first thoughts. We are always working to shape and reform our thoughts.

Thanks for your comment.
Happy Monday to you!
