Do It or Ditch It In August!
I have decided as the year is two-thirds of the way over and I'm going to have a new policy.
DO IT OR DITCH IT
Whatever my goals are for this month I am either going to complete them every day or am going to ditch them.
Managing a business means making decisions every day some days lots of them. Nonetheless I decided to review my priorities every single day. If you know what is important in your business it is easier to stay focused on the most important outcomes.
How to develop a do it mindset.
Obviously the basis of the do it mindset is based on my business plan. However, I am also expanding it to other areas of my life. I'm going to put a list at the end of this post of the things I intend to do every day this month or ditch it.
- I will remain focused on the current tasks. Ironically that nearly got derailed this morning and it's only the first of the month. I was in the middle of writing my article for the day when my business partner reminded me that I've changed the theme on a new website and the logo I created and not in the right colours for the new design. Fortunately was only a 20 minute breaking in Canva, to change the colours.
- Ideally this means retaining some flexibility in my day. I have also decided to leave the things I am more passionate about until later in the day and get cracking first thing on the things I don't like doing.
- I will also mean, ditching any can't do attitude and focusing on the Can do.
- I plan to ditch anything that doesn't take off within the planned timeframe. It doesn't take off and get traction then it is just an energy drainer.
Tasks I plan to do every day
A thirty day tapping challenge
Write at least 2000 words a day
Publish at least a 1000 a day on a new blog.
Start an new Youtube channel
Finally get my IM membership site off the ground.
Walk for half an hour a day.
Buy a house in Valencia
Unpack and repack all my books ready to ship out to Valencia
what can you challenge yourself to do in August?
Are you brave enough to ditch anything that doesn't get finished?
Would it help your productivity to join in this challenge?

Hi Catherine
I really like this Do It or Ditch It In August policy! I may just have to join you and create a list of my own 😁
Look forward to reading about the outcome of this policy - will you write about it at the end of August?
Blessings
Louise
yes there will be a do and ditch it in September, will evaluate August then. Simone is doing the challenge with me and we will pm each other every day with the results
1. I walk 45 min minimum a day in summer
2. Eat healthy freshly cooked 3- meals everyday/ family time : 2-3h
Sleep 7-8 hours everyday:
3. I love making money in Stock market- 2 h
Rest of ~10 hours I do: Reading, research, training, write -WA business.
First 3 are my must priorities.
I love this article, Catherine.
Great share Catherine. I think I have to be more serious with my daily work. Need to focus and be organized. Have been taking things a bit too lightly and less productive.
Will work out to improve. Thank you.
I need to do most of these and ditch most of the stuff I do :( but this is GREAT advice.

Catherine, I REALLY, REALLY like this!
It fits in nicely with my approach to time management and will make a phenomenal difference to the results we achieve.
My August 'Do It or Ditch it':
1. Write 1 blog post on my MMO website, every day.
2. walk for 40 minutes every day.
3. Drink 1 gallon of water every day.
4. Read 1 book every week.
Those are my 4 do or die August goals.
Thank you!

Equally I am in awe of you with what you achieve. with a child. I could never have done all that
My daughter, Zafirah, is a real trooper and very supportive.
Actually, we are of each other.
It was tough in the earlier years but we made it through.
Now, at 11 years and moving into secondary (middle) school, she is a well-balanced young lady who helps me with the creative elements.
Soon she will have her own online business.
Of that, I am sure. 🙂
Knowing you, you would have found a way.
