There have been many posts recently about people stepping away from wealthy affiliates.

It's important to remind yourself that self-care is essential for your mental health. It means looking after yourself and putting yourself first, but it doesn't necessarily mean going it alone. Some of you will need help, especially in these challenging times.

Self-care is a continuing process of looking after and caring for yourself.

Choosing to make a conscious, deliberate decision to do things at least daily basis, that will improve, maintain, and repair your, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

It's about identifying what it is you need in this will be different for each individual person. Once you've identified the needs, you need to take, conscious and deliberate steps to meet these needs. If you can't do it yourself, it's always helpful to get feedback from others.

Self-care is especially important when dealing with family issues, financial stresses, illness, and bereavement, and now in 2020 and beyond.

We're well into week 2 of 2021, so let's get this right, so it sets the tone for the whole year...

A study produced by Harvard showed that those who set goals are three to ten times more successful than those who don't. This means setting your new year's resolutions is essential and beneficial to your success.

Here are a few resolutions every entrepreneur should make this year:

Ramp Up Productivity

Discover and develop new strategies to increase your productivity. What areas of your business take up most of your time and resources? Are there ways you can simplify the process and save more time? Utilize new technology, create new products, or hire more help are a few ideas.

Hire More Help

Take the load off yourself this year. You cannot expect yourself to wear 10,000 hats for the rest of your business journey. Look to where you can get more help.

Avoid doing tedious tasks that only take up your time or tasks you don't have enough education, instead hire others to do it. The more help you can get, the more productive you will be. The quality of your work will improve as you wear fewer hats and can better focus and utilize your time.

Indulge in Self-Care

Self-care is vital to your company's success. Instead of using all your time on your business, set a reasonable amount of time to enjoy and pamper yourself and do the things that give you joy.

Whatever it may be, don't feel guilty for indulging once or more a week. The importance of your mental and physical health cannot be overstated. It is just as vital as running a successful business. In fact, poor health can easily bleed into your company and cause adverse effects in the long term.

Learn Something New

You don't need to be busy or work 24/7 within your industry or profession to be a successful entrepreneur. In truth, you may be wasting time if you're always busy if you're not making an impact. Successful entrepreneurs understand the importance of self-care and taking the time to have a well-rounded and broad education. They are experts within their industry but dive into other subjects to increase their creativity and perspective.

If you haven't set any new years' resolutions yet, then use these as a guide to get your year started right. Setting resolutions is a great way to plan and ensure a successful year.

Some very good advice Catherine. I try to meditate/pray daily and I also make sure I walk a minimum of 8km (speed walking) a day along the seashore here. This helps my creativity. & as something for the local environment, I have also slowly been cleaning, for about 30 minutes during my exercise, a 5km stretch of the beaches here that the local council rarely touch, cleaning the plastic off the beaches. I estimate I have removed about 110 kg of plastic so far. For the scale of the problem in the Pacific, its not a lot, but if we all try. So self care and environmental care, and then after a shower, its down to local sales and my site.

Have a great day.

Trevor

I live in a big house and I ran downstairs all day. I would walk but where I live it has rained solidly for five days. When the weather is Clement I walk along the beach and I also take the plastic sack to collect refuse. One of the things I remember on my travels in the Cook Islands was the number of broken bottles on the beach. Not the result of anything the Cook islanders are done but bottles that had been thrown off cruise ships and fishing boats and the like

You and I are going to live to be a hundred I hope! More importantly live to an old-age healthfully

Exactly. Have a great day.

Trevor, you should move to Trinidad!

Every time I head to our coast I get upset when I see the amount of littering there is.
Turtle season will soon start and we lose our precious turtles, that come all the way from Down Under to lay their eggs on our beaches.

It annoys me!

Thank you for your efforts.

I remember my husband bless him bombarding kids interact with coconuts, the green coconuts when they were leaving their beer bottles on the beach in Sri Lanka during turtle time, it drove him nuts!

Thanks Cassi. It annoyed me too, so I started at first to remove 3 bottles a day, then I started using a bag and a small box I found to pick up the starbucks plastic stirrers and "lolly pop" sticks. I just do a bit every day, I don´t have time for more, but if we all try...it soon starts to improve.

It is the little actions that we take that collectively make a difference, Trevor.

It all adds up.

We each have to decide what our priorities are. Family and health (whether mental or physical) are right up there on the list. Some people can be in WA 12-14 hrs/day but that can't be sustained for very long. We get burned out. As long as we recognize what we need and get it, we'll be fine. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to move up the ladder, just that you do move up!

Yes do you remember Loes she was in WA the ambassador who was in WA every day for hours for about five years

Of course I remember her. Love her. She still pops in periodically and ALWAYS has words of wisdom!!! One very smart cookie!!! I think she got burned out being Ambassador though.

in my humble opinion she was the best ambassador ever

You might be right. There was another one named Heidi that was very good as well.

I totally agree. Without our health, what do we really have? I often take a step back because it is what I need to do, so business suffers a bit, but when I do come back, I feel brand new and refreshed.

There is a word in the middle of "LIFE" my day always said do not become one of them.

Great reminder for all of us, Catherine.

Joseph

Thanks Joseph

Very well said Catherine. Self care is so important to not get burnt out and to ensure that you have space to do others things also important
Hugh

And your family Hugh

Without question Catherine

Thanks for the good reminders. And thanks for sharing, Catherine.
Thanks,
Joyce
