Working Towards A Four Hour Week!
I learned something new today:
“You don’t want a million dollars, you want the lifestyle you think having a million dollars will get you.”
That made me realise that if I put off my dreams, waiting for the day when I have the means I think I need, those dreams might never materialise. What's more, maybe I can accomplish most of my dreams without the millions I supposedly need.
Some people, myself included, get so absorbed in chasing money, that we end up neglecting ourselves-mentally, physically and emotionally..we neglect our loved ones and friends. We get so caught up in the rat-race that we end up losing the plot all together.
So, I've decided to speed things up by slowing down! I'm going to chill more, smell the coffee, drink it more slowly and savour the aroma! I'm going to push for a Four Hour Work Week and if it works for me, I'll tell you all about it. And if I don't....does someone have a job for me?!!
Cheers!

We all need this reminder and realization in our life. It's okay to step back for a moment, but if we're always waiting for the means then we'll always be in a state of waiting
Hey Jennifer,
Yes, it's always a fine line. I've always had the "guilty syndrome", where if I am not working harder than my employees, then I feel like I'm not worthy! It's time for me to change that mind-set..

I would rather put in the effort now to have the life style later. but then again I love what I do and if it gets to be like work......I'll find something else to do.

Fair point Percy, as long as you know when is the right time to say: "That's it, I have enough!" and not wait until they're singing hymns at your funeral!
Agreed. I've sang a few of those Hymns over the last number of years.
They are always sad times but it reminds us that our task is not done yet.
Just a random thought.

Well said. I've been thinking a lot lately about the lifestyle vs income idea as well and trying to figure out how to balance earning enough income while trying to implement a few positive lifestyle changes. For me minimizing and simplifying has been enjoyable and the factor that helps me live better. As for someone having a job for you.....I really suspect from the tone of your posts here that you will always have the hustle to more than meet your needs. Best of luck and thanks for your frequent motivating posts!
Hey Kristi,
As all things in life, it's all about balance. I have always worked too hard and my wife and kids will be the first to agree on that point...I want to enjoy life more now but not compromise on the lifestyle that we have become used to...the first step was to get rid of all debt and reduce expenditure. Thanks for your positive comment!
