A Special Day Indeed

Today is a fiery celebration for spice lovers, especially in Texas, where hot sauce is practically a food group. From drizzling it on eggs to pairing it with everything from tacos to fries, we Texans know how to turn up the heat. Some might even confess to using hot sauce to enhance another sauce (I may or may not be guilty of this!)—yes, it’s that essential! On National Hot Sauce Day, spice enthusiasts everywhere have an excuse to embrace the burn, try new flavors, or even create their own zesty blends. If you thrive on heat, today is your day to indulge and celebrate all things hot and spicy!

A Sign that says National Hot Sauce Day

Celebrate National Hot Sauce Day!

January 22 is National Hot Sauce Day—a day to honor the spicy, flavorful sauces we love. From mild to fiery, hot sauce comes in countless varieties, each with its unique blend of chili peppers and ingredients. It’s part of cuisines worldwide, spicing up everything from eggs to steak.

Here’s how to celebrate:

  1. Try new flavors – Pick a few hot sauces from different regions and explore their unique heat and taste. (This is one of my Hobbies)
  2. Make your own – Experiment with your favorite peppers and spices to craft a custom hot sauce. (On the To-Do List)
  3. Host a hot sauce party – Share your favorites with friends and enjoy spicy meals together. (Taco Night should be every night!)
  4. Create A Post About It!- Share your love for hot sauce with your readers like I have. If you have a favorite sauce, then write about it. (Opportunity is Everywhere)

Did you know more than half of American households have a bottle of hot sauce? Whether mild or blazing hot, there’s a hot sauce for everyone! So, grab a bottle and spice up your day.

There’s no better time to turn up the heat than on National Hot Sauce Day. Whether you’re exploring new sauces, creating your own, or sharing the spice with friends, today is all about celebrating the bold flavors that make every meal exciting. So, let your love for hot sauce shine, try something new, and savor the burn. After all, life’s a little sweeter—or should we say spicier—with a dash of hot sauce!

You know...my doctor told me to stay away from the hot sauce.
Okay, darn, it is time to be honest. I am a mild saucey find of guy.
I hope you will still keep me as a WA founder...lol

You keep on enjoying the 🔥Hot Sauce Michael!

Will do Rick!

Spice it up, my friend!

Hi Michael,

This is a great post but, I may be a bit biased, coming from the country that produces the 2nd hottest pepper in the world. 😂

"Before Pepper X or the Carolina Reaper, the Trinidad Moruga was the hottest pepper in the world. It was the first pepper to ever break 2 million SHU. As you might have guessed, this fearsome, golf ball-sized pepper hails from Trinidad. Fans say it isn’t just hot but also fruity and flavourful."

I grew up eating a lot of hot (we don't say "spicy") foods given my Africa/East Indian heritage.

You should pay us a visit and enjoy all the hot food you can imagine. 😉

Thanks for sharing.

I have no experience with that variety of pepper, but your comment has changed that. I will seek further information about it and add it to my must-try list.

My personal favorite sauce is from a US-based company called Elijah's Xtreme. It is a Ghost Pepper sauce that combines sweetness with the magma from the earth's core. It is hot but not the hottest they offer. I still love the flavor and the ability to taste my food!

😂

It is difficult for me to eat without pepper sauce or a raw pepper.
We eat a lot of stews and curries so they pair well.

I will look out for your favourite.

Maybe I need some hot sauce for my frozen RV. It looks like a marshmallow! 😂🤣

Unusually chilly in the Southern States, News has advised us we are looking at mid-50-60 for the weekend and a warming trend.

Yes, I saw that, too! More like normal with 60s and 40s at night versus teens and 20s.

Keep warm!

I am bundled up like a Sausage wrap drenched in hot sauce!

I will try to stay warm.

😁👍

Thanks for calling attention to the star of many meals in our household,
However, I think that this is a sauce that has gotten more important in the past
20 or so years. It could have been HEB helping us find the blends that really work for us.

It is no longer just Hot Sauce; it has so many different blends and degrees of heat. Kind of like all the beers that have been born in the last 20 years due to the growth of small breweries.

I am fortunate to live in Austin, where we have the HEB Central Market. It has an expanded variety of hot sauces that you do not find at your local HEBs.

Grew up with hot sauce for food or "pepper sauce". Then there was tabasco sauce for a different tangy taste. The really brave members of my family just ate the raw hot green or red peppers. That I only tried once! But I really didn't experience hot until my friend from Thailand cooked dried red pepper flakes it hot oil and other hot sauce seasonings on the food she prepared for us to eat. It would make your "hair sweat" eating it. Haha;)
Thanks for sharing your love for hot sauce.

You are very welcome.

Have a good day.

Michael
