I use generatepress theme also and have not experienced the issues you seem to be having (I went to your website).

A member RikaSF has some info on generatepress in her blog posts.

Remember to keep everything as simple as possible until you get more proficient with word press and this particular theme.

Read all the training on word press here at WA.
On the left margin of your pg click Training - click classrooms - scroll down to Everything Wordpress - click tutorials and there is a lot of basic training (hopefully this will help).

I know from experience how frustrating it is to be confused when using a new theme in word press.
