What Should I Do?

So, I have some questions.

Should I be adding additional content and SEO techniques to posts or pages that I have already created to increase their ranking? These are pages that are indexed in Google but not neccessarily a page 1 ranking. They are also posts that are already over 1k words and I have done the SEO to them. Or, do I wait for the ranking to increase over time on its own? How long does it take for my post ranking to increase?

Should I just be focused on creating new posts and not be too concerned about my exisiting posts? Or, should I be concerned about all of my posts?

I want to do what is best to increase my post rankings!

Any thoughts?

Thank you!!

Alisha

Yes, both. Jonny has a great answer below, so I won't rewrite. I see you've been here since 2015, so if some of the posts are older, as in a couple years older, then definitely revisit, revamp and reshare. You can even add an updated date to the top, or bottom, whatever you prefer, to posts that you do considerable edits too, then recirculate. Point is that remodeling old content is good.

I have been here since 2015 but I had a full time job and could only devote a few hours of week to WA. Now I am giving it my full time energy and I feel excited about the future. :)

Yay! Congrats, and I hope your 2019 is awesome!

I would do both. Keep writing new posts and keep sharing the old posts via social media and change the post names and images when you post. As your social media following goes and you start to get clicks and comments on your existing posts your ranking will improve. I've come across sites that have 40 posts that get tens of thousands of unique visitors a day but it took a few years for them to generate these views.

If you don't want to wait years, you might want to consider taking your most popular posts and running paid ads to the posts and then retargeting these people to join your list (get access to a lead magnet) and then you can offer them aces to join WA. Im facing the same challenge but I have not been consistent writing posts so I'm going to give it a year of writing posts as per the super affiliate challenge and then I'm going to start paid advertising and retargeting if my rankings don't improve.

I am doing the SAC also! I am not yet to the paid ads part of the training on the Affiliate Bootcamp. It is the next section! Right now I am trying to improve existing posts and of course write new posts since I have 9 more to do before May to make 12. :)

I have not been using SiteContent to write my posts though bc I am into such a groove of using the Wordpress editor. Do you?

Hey. Good question. I'm using the Extra theme by Elegant Themes and whenever I post using the Site Content Editor I have to spend an inordinate amount of time tweaking in my theme's editor before its ready to publish so I'm not going to use Site Content moving forward, I'm just going to publish my posts via the wordpress dashboard..

Having learned a lot more since I started on the Challenge and got to grips a little with boot camp, think that you should do new posts, but not ignore that old ones to see if you can now improve them.
Best wishes
Stuart

Thank you so much for your advice!!
