What just happened to my site sucks so bad!
So this is what happened today. I have been working on my website for hours and hours in the last mont. I really put some hard work into my site. Like a crazy amount of work. I went to go try a different theme and installed and activated it. After installing the theme I went back in to my site to see how it looked and to my dismay my site was gone.... EVERYTHING!!!! All gone. I didn't worry because well I knew there would be a backup. I asked to have my site restored and the last backup they had was when I started my site.
This is unbeleivable and really upsetting. I put so much hard work into my site and it's just gone. EVERYTHING!!!! This is nobodies fault but mine but I didn't think installing a new theme would wipe out my site. Well it did... It's all gone and I want to throw my labtop at the wall. Why did this happen to me. I had traffic on my site and it's all gone from installing a different theme.
I asked the support team if maybe they could help out with some credits because I spent a lto to get the comments on my site and they did not even reply to that request. I don't feel like building another website from scratch cause thats what I will be doing. Cause thats the backup they have when I started.
I can't even begin to tell everybody how I am feeling right now. This is what I am going to do tho. I am going to rebuild my site and I am going to get the traffic back no matter how many hours it takes.
I am not going to give up tho. I will rebuild and even if Wealthy Affiliate doesn't want to help I will still make i!!!!

Sorry you went through all that. I think one of the first lessons they could teach is how to install a backup plugin. I back up my site every week. Some do it after any new content is added. Jim
thank you and the lesson I have learnt from this is I am going look into how to backup my own stuff
Wow! What a moment! I use Filezilla (an ftp program) to connect to the server and download the files from my website to keep as a backup. If something happens to the site, you'd just reupload the latest files back to the site. I store a copy of my site on my computer and also copy it to a external backup hard drive every time I down load a new copy. I download a backup any time I make some decent progress on the site and then delete the old backups from my computer and hard drive since they take up a good bit of storage space. I wish you luck and speed with rebuilding. Definitely download backups as you make your new progress.
Awwwwwwwww. I'm so sorry to hear that. :(
My thoughts are.. I bet you will make it even better than it was. :)
I wish you the best. Ask Site Support again. Paula

It's the early stage of your website development so there's still plenty of opportunities to recover what's lost. Some people here have experienced a lot worse. I've been there.
Tips - use your free siterubix account to test out themes and plugins before running at full speed. Apply what you learn, test it with dummy text (get from https://www.lipsum.com/) so you can beef up the content a bit to get a good feel. Get opinions from other members to see where you are going.
Don't feel disheartened, Trevor. If you need anything, please let me know.
