Google+ %#@$^&
I've just about had it with Google+ - and everything else! I got up at 2:37am just so I could get in here to WA and find what I've missed. First off I got into my Yahoo email to check things out. Replied/liked some of what the fine people here at WA had to say, then cleared everything else so I could spend the remaining free time on my sites.
I tried to sign in at WA and got "504 Error, Gateway timed out" HUH?! I could access everything else, just not WA. I looked it up and in a nutshell 504 errors have to do with the servers (blah, blah....blah)! 3:00 am is way too early for this crap!So I go back to my email etc. Figured to give it some time and try again. Still no go. Finally I just re-started my computer and Lo and Behold we have contact (Yea Me)!
I go fishing about and backtracking looking for overlooked stuff and found the bit about Google Authorship (you know, how to get the little G+ sign up with your profile & stuff), so I did that. The 1st time I guess I did it wrong, so I did it again. V..E..R..B..A..T..I..M. still no little "Good Girl You Did It" sign! So I look on the profile About me page. Now on the left side where it names my sites with the word "verify" along side them, I figure maybe I must verify these first, so I click on the word "verify" and it says Error sending email to...(my sites)"! I know they are there! They are listed on my "Contributes to" page! GRRRR!
I know that I set up the WP/WA email area correctly 'cuz I checked! I tried the Rich Snippet tools and ...MORE HOOPS TO JUMP THROUGH!
Something is missing somewhere for me. Well, I can make a novel out of this post by complaining and getting nothing done, or I can make ANOTHER pot of coffee and get to it and find where I screwed up. Good thing I like coffee...See Ya's later!!! (an emoticon would come in handy right here)

Keep smiling Terry. It makes people wonder what you've been up to. I wouldn't be too worried about Google Authorship. Get it done when you can, but don't kill yourself over it.
TEE HEE! Scared the heck out of my bird anyway ; ) It's over and done with. And, I found out, not really all that necessary. Which sort of irks me that much more. I could have been doing something else. Tomorrow!
Hey terry, up at 2:37am to work on WA, that's crazy but I totally understand. I was up sometimes 48 hours at a time doing this stuff when I started, worn me down eventually. It's best to have like a daily time table to work with, set your hours of work and try to have a normal routine if you can.
don't worry too much about google authorship, it's only a very small contribution to the way google ranks so wont affect ya too much. There's a video by a member on here (I forget who but I'll find it for you) where they show how to do The G+ authorship, webmaster and analytics verification all in one fell sweep...takes all the hassle out of it.
As it happens I need the video to sort out a few of my sites, so i'm off to look for it now, I'll inbox you the link when I find it...

Of course! I laugh in the face of adversity! Love those challenges to my mental capabilities concerning topics I know nothing about, and yet I did not allow to defeat me. To Google, I say HA! HA and HA! (puny computer!)

You can, however, get your pages indexed by using fetch as google. After you use fetch, wait a day and then use rich snippet and you shouldn't have all those errors. Here's how to do fetch:

Coffee + chocolate = the only thing to worry about today. Google authorship = no worries (didn't even worry about it)

Sorry to hear Theresa. I hear ya on the authorship madness. I also had this issue and it was extremely frustrating so I basically ignored it. It's really important anymore and is much more of a headache than anything else as far as I'm concerned.
Whenever these things happen, I like to get my mind off things by doing something completely different.
