Starting to Feel the Flow!
Yesterday was the first day I felt I was beginning to understand the basics to getting my website up and running and managing its growth. This has been a very challenging task for me because I tend to just skim over details to keep moving fast, to get to the end. I am good at sizing things up quickly and setting a course of actions without having all the particulars. Needless to say, that approach didn’t work well for me when I started bootcamp training. I kept watching parts of the videos and then jumping to the end to check the boxes. I understood what the learning module was about… didn’t need all the details… time to move on… to the next one…and then the next…and so on.
However, it became apparent, I was missing key pieces of information to complete the tasks at the end each module. This became very frustrating and deflated my motivation to continue. It was then I had what is sometimes called a “come to Jesus moment”. Trying to figure out why I was approaching my training as something to get done quickly, I asked myself, what was I afraid of? Resistance immediately reared up and claimed, “I’m not scared”, but the more I thought about it, I realized I was afraid. I was afraid I wasn’t smart enough or had enough confidence in my cognitive skills to successfully complete the training. This was a tough pill to swallow for me and I understood for success to come, I needed to change my mindset and attitude.
I have always developed skills and techniques that have added to the quality of my life. However, I don’t always integrate these skills to all aspects of my life, and it dawned on me, I might have the answer to overcoming my frantic fear of learning right inside me. I have meditated for many years and started to bring that mindset to my WA training. I began to look at each training module as a meditation; as something to unfold in the moment, not rip open. I stopped feeling hurried and stressed, and let each module unfold without trying to rush to the end so I can check-off another lesson. I started taking my time to enjoy the journey of learning. And now, my retention is up, my attitude is strong, and I am enjoying myself while I’m learning.
I also want to mention that Kyle’s voice and vibe in the training videos help because he sounds calm, confident and you sense he genuinely is rooting for your success. He’s also posted up some very timely blogs that have helped me maintain motivation or provided a suggestion to overcome an obstacle. From our ambassadors, I have gotten some great advice and suggestions that have made things better or simpler.
Lately, I have been reading member’s blogs, looking at questions posted up to the community, and posting up some of my own as well. I’m starting to get the feel of our WA community and how important it is to my success. Thanks to everyone who has helped me and I wish success to all my WA neighbors.

That's how I was at first, and then I was feeling better about it too! I had the desire but not the environment to maintain my account and my website, but I am ready to get it up and running again, and its members like yourself that give me inspiration. It does take time, and each step is important but we are a family, whether doing well or not - so keep going Terry, you are doing great!
