A Christmas Eve Wildfire

Hello, my WA Family! We had a bit of a scare yesterday, 12/23/25, and it’s still going on today. See header image. We used to have a whole coverage of palmetto bushes - there goes our privacy.

A new ex-city-dwelling neighbor who is building on 5 acres behind us decided to burn some logs. He turned his back for a moment, and the 21 MPH wind kicked up to start a fire.

Our dog barked at two firemen dressed in their fire suits walking up our driveway, and one asked to use our bathroom, which we gladly obliged. He told us about the fire that had encroached onto our property and that they were looking for a way to get their water trucks back to spray the fires with their massive water hoses.

They’ve been there through the night and back out today, digging trenches and putting out smoldering spots. I really appreciate firefighters!

I had an important doctor's appointment I couldn’t miss, since I wouldn’t be able to see them until the following Monday. So, I had to miss all the fun. When I was younger, we had forest fires that endangered our 30 acres. The fire service would be digging 20-foot-wide fire lines all around our property. These were great for riding my horse around our property.

I used to help watch the fires from my horse and keep them at bay with a shovel and hoses when I was close to a water spigot. Doing this made me want to be a forest ranger, and I’ve kept that knowledge going into my survival prepping skills.

Hyper-relevant Categories

Before all of this fun stuff, I went down a bit of a rabbit hole, per se, by asking ‘Sage’, my ChatGPT, to help me update my categories and tags and create a new menu. How I Use ChatGPT to Organize My Website for SEO which discusses ‘Why categories and tags are so important’ and ‘How to use GPT to give you hyper-relevant tags based on your categories’, etc.

Well… this redesign went on for a week of long days that carried into the evenings. I sure learned a lot about how to use my AI. One of the things that took so long was the constant recreation of the Excel file that Sage made for the category restructuring. It took forever. I finally realized that I needed to open a new chat cuz it was ‘clogging up’ my PC with too many details.

I also realized that I didn’t always need a new Excel file and could do some of the work without it. After a few days of too much work, which left me with a migraine that lasted 3 days, I updated most of the categories, tags, and posts to create a new menu.

I have Kadence Pro, or thought I did when I started this process, and after a plugin verification and update, Sage and I tried to make a Kadence mega menu. We could not get it to work after many hours of trying. It was late, so I just made a standard menu with drop-downs, but it is much better organized and SEO-friendly, so I’m happy.

Has anyone here done a redesign of their website categories or anything this stressful using their AI? Please reply below with your 'fun stuff', lol.

If anyone knows how to do a horizontal-type Kadence mega menu, please assist me 🙂
