I have run many tests on Facebook. I truly do believe they fudge their numbers, much of the "likes" I get are from the fake users, and if you ever see sponsored posts on Facebook and your "friends" like them, that is also a lie. In 99% of those cases, your friends have not liked those posts and I have verified that many times as well.
Is there opportunity on FB, yes. Are they running a shady ad platform, I believe so yes...from my experience.

For sure, there is lots of opportunity because of the way they allow you to target demographics. It is brilliant actually as they have SOOO much personal information about people, more than we would probably like...but for an advertiser, this information is huge!
