Is it good to be indexed for my name? I got indexed on Google for two articles and rank first on Google for my name. If I search on my name, which is TEFLJohn, it picks up my Facebook business page, Pinterest, my website, and my Linkedin account. Even though my articles are not ranked for the TEFL keyword, I rank for my name because it is so competitive. After all, I use it on many social media platforms on the internet. I want to start with a YouTube channel with videos of training for teachers and share some good resources, which can link back to my website.
I aim to become an authority for teachers who want to teach in China, as I have been working here for 20 years. The above names are all me, so even though I am ranking 5 on Google, it is still me.

Good going. How well do you rank in other keyword searches around your niche. For instance, English teachers in China or Teaching English in China?

Not really good yet. I only have two articles at the moment but I am planning on using the articles and have a campaign when I have added some courses to lead the target audience to the blog post, with links of the courses as the call to action. So first of all leadin providing information and then if they are interested in clicking through to the information about the courses. Leading them all the way to make a purchase.

I think that you have a unique name if anyone should look it up. But you are right that it may not rank your article the same way friend. So, my question would be, how would anyone know who you are or your business if your article will not be on the first or second page when looking up the keywords for it?
This is what I'm trying to say. Let's say your niche is about pets. What about pets should anyone search for? If I simply put pets in the search bar, it will resulted in about 3,300,000,000 searches. If I put in the search bar, "my pets are not eating", it will resulted in about 357,000,000 searches. It might be fair to say, that if you put in the search bar pets dot com with your unique name as TEFLJohn, it will most likely be seen on page one or two of google searches.
Also, it could be that your social media platforms may have contributed to your position. As you have stated, you've been activated on many social media platforms. What ever you have done, it works. I wouldn't change anything. You're a teacher, and your credentials matter. Let your name be the center of all your searches towards your business, if you may. All the best!
