PPC Mystery

This falls more under the category of a rhetorical question, but if someone does have an answer why I would love to know.

How is it that in Bing Ads I receive a message that my bid is below the first page bid when in fact, I get impressions and clicks and my average position is 2+ or 3+? If my average position is 2nd or 3rd that means it appears on the search page according to Bing's description of Avg Position. I've seem Microsoft play this game, too!

I wish I could help you. I’ll keep that question in mind as I communicate with others. It sounds like you may need to talk directly with Bing. Good luck

I get the same thing, but it depends upon when you're looking at it. It may show that a keyword is below the first page bid, but that doesn't mean that it's been below it all the time.

For instance, I have 2 keywords that usually show impressions and clicks about half the day, but then the rest of the day it says my bid is below the first page bid. It all depends on how many people are bidding and how high at a particular time.

I get a small number of clicks, but that's ok because I have a very small budget too!

Hey Janelle, what you wrote makes sense. I tend to be a bit of cynic by thinking that Bing is trying to get you to bump up the bids to increase their revenues. :)
Best Regards,
Jim

Great question can’t wait for an answer
