Will I Be Send To The Naughty Corner? - Feb 2018 update

Let me first say a big CONGRATULATIONS to all the SWAG's and WAGG's out there - I've read as many of your reports as my intermittent internet allowed and were very motivated and inspired by everybody's progress!

We had a good month, despite our mobile internet that was playing up causing much

frustration. But even there did WA help us to remain cool, (calm?) and collected! When I called our ISP and feeling that I'm going to loose my cool and my calm this morning, GailLowe's post has just managed to load (after almost 5 minutes) before my internet once again played up. So while hearing "You are number 128 in the queue", I managed to read her blogpost, "What to do if you miss the SWAG targets: DON'T PANIC!". If you haven't read it - it comes with recommendation! :-) Thank you Gail!

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/gaillowe/blog/what-to-do-if-...

I have manged to do most of our Feb homework. On the Theme, I'm not too happy with the one that I've got, but I decided that I'll wait for WP's Gutenberg update - so I'm not going to waste too much time on this.

I'm afraid Kyle's going to be send me to the naughty corner for a few things though - I don't have all my keywords, but I've got 15 that I think is REALLY good - Hubby has 46 good keywords on his list. And I didn't do 12 posts to my website, but I've done 11'600 words. I also didn't spend much time in Live Chat - but I tried to help as many people everywhere else. And of course, blogging here on WA was a bigger challenge for me than I have imagined. :-)

But I have learned HEAPS about WA, about the lovely community here, about my business, and a lot of self-discovery as I pushed through some personal barriers. :-)

Yes, Bo has said from the beginning that this should be treated as a business, with business hours and should be taken seriously - and I thought I did - I'm a fairly disciplined person. It is amazing how the teacher appears when the student is ready eh? I read a tiny book which has proven that I have a few more areas to work on and I feel that I have grown so much in my commitment this past month.

Watching Bo's videos often was a challenge (because of internet issues), but I'm happy that we could watch so many of them and learn so much from them! Not everything is implemented yet, but hopefully if our ISP deliver on their promises, I'll be able to work and get that done too!

To all the lovely WA-family - thank you for your encouragement. Just reading everybody's posts - the trainings - whatever is going on here at Wealthy Affiliate, is so exciting and motivating. Reading about KerriBrink's 4c profit, or EddySalomon's $9465.05 - how can one not be inspired to keep pushing - since like Kerri said so beautifully - it is not about the amount of money, but the fact that we are taught here, really works.

So to everybody who left a comment, liked a comment, send a PM, made a blog post - I thank you for the participation you indirectly and directly had in my accomplishments for this month. I hope to do better in March!

I really like Bo's motto and I hope he doesn't mind that I borrow it, but it really represents so well what Wealthy Affiliate is about, when he greets us with:

"Onwards and Upwards!"

Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

PS: I started this post
between 10 and 11 am this morning. Between a slow laptop, intermittent
internet and several restarts (thanks goodness that WA save so
frequently!!!) it is just before 9pm and I hope I am FINALLY going to be
able to post this! Any rewards for patience and determination? (Or is
this called stupidity?) :-) LOL!

Shooeee Sharlee, you're doing both? You're a BoGetter and a SWAG? Wow!! Thank goodness there are 2 of you. Go Team Ice Cream... Or is it I Scream at the mo.... Aaaargh. I really sympathise with you re intermittent Internet issues. Have that challenge often. Drives me nuts!!! Oh for fast efficient fibre.

Hi Lauren

LOL! I think in our household it is a case of "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!" :-) LOL!

Oh high speed FIBRE - now you are talking!

You guys have even more challenges, than only internet. Have you had any rain yet? You guys are in our thoughts and prayers!

May you also have a good March Lauren!

"Onwards and Upwards!"
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

I would not worry cause I will be over there to I got everything done apart from the 12 posts to my website :( .. we might get off with a yellow warning card for now lets hope eh, well done though as you still got lots done so long as I am doing more than I did last month it is progress

LOL! Oh Katie - it sounds like we will be a whole group of naughty ones - just bring some ice cream along when you come! I got a bit stuck on the topics of my posts - I think I have hit "stupid mode" at some point and just couldn't figure out what to write about next. All my keywords seems to fit in only one post... so somewhere I didn't listen too well to the instructions. :-) LOL! Last night I woke up with a few more ideas which I will write about.

I hope you are right about the Yellow Warning Card! :-)

I always say that even if it goes "one step forward two steps back" - we only count the forward steps, so at least there's progress! Getting all the other things done is a huge accomplishment in itself too! Congratulations! Sending you some e-ice cream to celebrate that accomplishment! :-)

Have you seen Loes' latest post? That woman, I tell you, I wish I can give her a BIG hug for all the amazing things I have already learned from her! :-)

May March be a good month for you too Katie! Please shout if there's anything that I may be able to help you (or any other of our WA-family) with! :-) (And is sincerely meant!)

Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

lol I have been the same want to make sure what I write about helps someone and its easy for them to understand.. Lets put our best foot forward for March and see what Kyle comes up with next.

I will bring along some tablet ice cream for you to try can only get it in Scotland ... have a good week

LOL, oh yes, I hoot for putting our best foot forward!
"Tablet Ice Cream" - oh my goodness, that sounds interesting! Will it cure our ice cream addiction? ;-)
May you have a good week too!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

who knows it is very sweet so might put you off, lol I am not a big ice cream eater, I cannot each much of it

Very sweet? Sounds right up my alley. Not Hubby's so much. :-) I'll Google it when I'm taking a break, to see what that is all about.
"Onwards and Upwards"! :-)
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

yes onwards and upwards is the way of this month. take care

Scoot over, you are going to have company in the corner.

I only wrote 5 articles. I was working on an online course that we are just launching. 70,000 words, 27 videos, etc. It is finally completed so I can get back to SWAG now.

So scoot over, its gonna get crowded. LOL

LOL! Okay, we'll make space in the corner for you too Craig, as long as you bring ice cream along! Any flavor is accepted, although chocolate seems to be the favorite. :-) LOL!

[sweeping hand over forehead] WHEW - you've been a tad busy, haven't 'ya? My goodness! Well done! You may not have made much SWAG progress, but you have made some AWESOME progress on your overall business and that is what counts! Proud of you! :-)

Onwards and Upwards! :-)
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Your 'scoot over...' made me laugh. :-)

But wow, you are doing well! Having your own product is definitely the way to go - read a post a day or two ago by a guitarist who wrote his own 'Teach yourself guitar' type of book who is doing amazingly well.

It's definitely 'Onwards and Upwards' for you...

Well, I might be there in the corner with you, Sharlee...a great excuse to have ice cream!!! Reminds me of the times my mom would send me to my room as a form of punishment, but when she would come up 30 minutes later, I would be sound asleep! I could be wrong, but I don't think that was what she sent me to my room for...

Anyway, back to you, Sharlee...I believe that any progress - no matter how slowly it happens - is still progress. I've been without my laptop for almost 2 weeks, so I've gotten behind...extremely behind in all my assignments. I think I'm so behind, that it would appear that I'm leading!! ROFL!!! Man, I'm on a roll tonight! Where was I...

Oh, yeah...progress...truth be told, I was falling behind even before my laptop went in for repair. There has been so much about my character that has been revealed like I know that when something intimidates me, I tend to move at a slow pace...a much slower pace...it's one of my many annoyances, but thank goodness that we have the ability to change!

I appreciate your honesty, Sharlee. I think it's not a matter of, "Man, I don't want to fall.", but rather, when you do fall, how long do you stay down before deciding to get back up!

As Bo says: Onward and upward (with ice cream and cake)!!!

Veronica

Awww Veronica! Oh dear! Here's an e-hug for you! Yip, I'll make sure that I bring enough ice cream for both of us then! ;-) LOL!

Two weeks without your laptop? Unthinkable! When we used to complain, Mom always said (fairly short and unsympathetically) that there are ALWAYS others that are worse off, and how true that is. Mine may have been frustratingly slow, but at least I still had it! Thank you for helping me see the bright side and the blessing in that!

Oh Veronica, you had me laughing! Yes, I bet that was not exactly what your Mom had in mind, but at least nobody can accuse you of not making the best use of your opportunities, can they?

LOL! Oh no, for sure I'm not failing on this one, I'm going to eat ice cream in Vegas and you are coming along, remember? ;-) Yes, and I'm getting up quickly, cause I can't eat ice cream laying down! LOL!

You are always so much fun Veronica - wisdom interspersed with fun and laughter!

May your laptop woes quickly be resolved and if there is anything that I can help you with to catch up, please PM me okay?

Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

You seem to bring out the silly in me, Sharlee! It's always a pleasure connecting with you.

OH...and who says you can't eat ice cream on the floor!!!

I'll give you my interpretation of Dr. Seuss' "Green Eggs and Ham":

I can eat ice cream on the floor,
I can eat ice cream in the store.

I can eat ice cream from a can,
I can eat ice cream in front of a fan.

I can eat ice cream in a car,
I can eat ice cream in a bar (with just a dash of rum).

Yeah...this is what happens when I'm without my laptop for too long...babble, babble, babble!!!

LOL!! Oh my goodness, that was so funny! I felt how my shoulders started moving and my head started keeping the beat, I could just hear it! ;-)

> You seem to bring out the silly in me, Sharlee!
But hey, don't put that blame on me! It's none of my doing! :-)

> It's always a pleasure connecting with you.
Likewise Veronica! :--)

Yes, I hope you receive it back soon! Not that I mind the babbling, but I just want you not to fall too far behind! ;-)

Onward and Upward!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Always glad to provide a chuckle, Sharlee!

...and I thought I had it bad!
My Internet took 3 full seconds(!!!!) to load a comment after I punched the link this morning, and I got so frustrated I went off and played a whole game of spider solitaire!
Geez, what a baby, when the latest "Super Storm" has a whole lot of you powerless this morning!
Apologies, and Kudos for getting through it!
I'll try to be more thoughtful, less a narcissist next time!
Tim

What?! 3 seconds? I don't think I have seen a response that fast!

Yesterday, just before Gail's post came through, it was taking about 8 minutes for a WA post to load!!

I don't know how many revisions I've got on this post, but it is a whole list of them, and I see the formatting is still wonky. I eventually resorted to typing the post offline, since I would type and the page would freeze or my internet would cut or my laptop decides to bless me with a blue screen... so then it is a restart, and a battle to get the internet up again and then we try to get signed into WA. I tell you, you have no idea how many places we click, before we eventually get to our SiteContent post - it is only when every click takes between 5 and 8 minutes that one realizes how many times we click to get there! Only to discover that the internet must have cut long before I realized, since it is only the first few lines that were edited, and I have to start all over again. I don't think I will lie if I say that I have edited this post 8 or 10 times. I eventually gave up and decided if I can just get if off my computer, I don't care any longer what it looks like! I was beyond fed-up with it.

So last night I threatened that I'm going to start chewing at my own wrists, and even Hubby thought it is going to drive him nuts, just trying to get to my laptop's Control Panel.

So 3 seconds - whew, that's fast! :-) Please enjoy it and be grateful for it!

I remember a while ago I had some troubles but were resolved in a few days. Wow, you have patience, I would not have been able to do what you have done.

As well as that you have done most of your month's work, except posts of course - Brilliant!

Thanks Steve. Man, I tell you, there was a few close calls, but I managed to persevere in containing my frustration. Let's hope I have fared well enough to have passed that "test" and to deserve a better month!

Thank you for your encouragement - much appreciated!

Wishing you an excellent month to come as well!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Hi Sharlee. Thank you for posting this and for recommending my post too. What an honour. I'm glad I was able to help. Sorry to hear about your internet connection, that must be very frustrating. Maybe you could write your post offline and then only transfer them when you have a better connection - just a thought.
And ice-cream in Vegas will be our reward. Hard work will pay off so let's be kind to ourselves and applaud our progress. Well done you! :) Gail

Hi Gail

Your post really was awesome, just at the perfect time when I needed it the most! And the coincidence that my internet was letting it through at just that precise moment... it just made me realize that I was about to bark up the wrong tree and gave me enough time to breath deeply and speak kindly. :-)

Yes, I often write my posts offline and sometimes even pen + paper.

Oh yes, when I get frustrated I try to drown it in many mental pictures of ice cream in Vegas. :-) LOL! Looking forward to meeting you there Gail!

"Onward and Upward" as Bo says - it's the only way!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Hi, Sharlee! :) :) :)

I’m so happy to hear about your progress and even though you’re thinking about that naughty corner, I see you are way ahead of most of us. It’s great to read this excellent post that sums up the hard work, struggle and joy for accomplishing results in this first month. I can see the determination that’s in between the lines of your message. Keep up the great work! :)

And thanks for recommending Gail Lowe’s post; I’ll go immediately over there to read it! :)

Hi Henry
Awww, you are always so kind and supportive - thank you Henry! It would have been hard pressed, to almost impossible, to have made it without this awesome community's support and encouragement, of which you are a significant part. Thank you! :-)
"Onwards and Upwards" - may March be a good month for all of us! :-)
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Sharlee, I'm sure you won't be sent to the naughty corner, but if you are make sure to take plenty of chocolate icecream.

Your not the only one with uncompleted tasks. I'm in a similar situation! But let's put that behind us and move on with the great month of March and all it brings with it.

See you soon :)

All the best.

Valerie

Valerie, you are the perfect friend to have! I'll make sure that I take enough ice cream for both of us! :-)

Yes, we can only do what we can - everything is not always smooth sailing, but when it is - then it's good.

May March be a better month for both of us and for all the other friends who also had a challenging month!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

This month will be great Sharlee and we will be able to celebrate with yummy Chocolate IceCream!

See you soon :)

You speak right to my heart Valerie! :-)
Chocolate IceCream it shall be! :-)
See you soon!

That's lovely Sharlee.
You always make me smile, along with a little giggle! It does the heart good. Or as I used hear when I was a child - 'it warms the cockles of the heart'. I always wondered what the cockle's were, but didn't dare question. I imagined cockle shells but didn't see where they would fit within the heart!

In the end, I gave up wondering and focused on eating as much Chocolate IceCream as I could get :)

Oh my goodness Valerie, and with English being my 2nd language I definitely wouldn't have had a clue what "cockles of the heart" may be either - I probably would have given them a blank stare and then followed you to the IceCream bowl! :-) LOL!

Ha..ha..!! What will they do with us? I hate to think!. Please no-one answer that question :)

I saw a good saying the other day, it said that we should all take a cue from the weather, since it take no notice of criticism - so even if they do answer the question, we'll just... well... continue eating ice cream eh? :-) LOL!

We sure will...-:) LOL!!

Sharlee, you are doing soo good. Don't feel down for not having achieved all your goals. Always do your best and strive for improvement then you'll arrive at your goal sooner or later.

It is good though having mentors like Kyle or Bo, giving us a kick onwards.

Let's Go Get the Success,
:-)

I agree with you, Pernilla...it is indeed very good to have mentors to give us the push many of us need :)

Thanks Pernilla, you are so kind and encouraging!
Oh yes, I agree, if it wasn't for Kyle and Bo, I would not have gotten half this frustrated, which means I would have taken it in my stride and wouldn't have accomplished this much either! So yes, I am forever grateful to them!
Yes, for sure, I'm still running to go get it! :-)
Wishing you much success Pernilla!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Fully agreed James! If not for them (and for the rest of the team members), I would probably have had an attitude of "tomorrow is another day" - but now I need to get it done NOW. Which is a good thing. Sometimes we need that little kick!
Wishing you all the best James!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

I feel your pain! Our internet is not the most amazing either. Our blogging is also being stalled by a few other things on our personal horizon, so my downtime is being redirected to lots of traditional pen and paper activity.

And sure, we can treat it like a business. But my experience of private business was also of fasting and feasting at times! Notwithstanding the steady effort. It’s such a test of patience for me!

Aww Ivy - here's an e-hug for you! And some e-ice cream too! (If that would be of any help?) :-) LOL! Yes, I've also been onto pen an paper at times, and Notepad as well.

I fully agree about that test of patience - for me too! I said to Hubby last night that it REALLY takes ALL my effort not to call them up and kick up a stench that would be smelled right to the other end of the earth. He just laughed and said that our WA-family won't appreciate it if that smell comes wafting past their windows... LOL!

Oh the "pleasures" of running our own businesses eh? :-)

Wishing you all the very best for March, may all that's stalling your progress evaporate! :-)

Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

HAhaha, thanks Sharlee! We’ve got each other, and all the good vibes here to carry us along on our slowest days. There’s always that.

Fully agree that the good vibes on here definitely makes difficult days much more bearable and sometimes even much better!
Onward and Upwards Ivy! :-)
