Fish your feet first - Wealthy Affiliate Sells Itself!

Well, I'm not shy and hardly am I to be caught without something to say, and I often have something to add to a conversation (whether it is useful or not, is for another discussion) ;-), but when I am told that I HAVE TO say something... well, uhm,, ah, uh... BLANK! Ever seen somebody with such a blank facial expression? It's like looking at a house - the lights are on, but there's nobody home.

So after we've been told that as part of our training that we have to commit to blogging here on Wealthy Affiliate, I thought to myself "Easy peasy! How difficult can that be?" I mean, I even talk to total strangers easily, so no problem (I thought).

But oh my goodness, is this blogging thing here on Wealthy Affiliate a struggle for me! I make endless little notes of what I maybe can blog about, but when I come to write about it - all ideas, thoughts and words fly out the window not to be seen again. Gone! Vaporized!

So I thought I will share with you my excitement at having had my first Wealthy Affiliate referral, even before my website was live, since I know it may be a struggle for many who have just started here at Wealthy Affiliate. And regardless of whether you are choosing to develop a niche website of your own, or whether you are doing Bootcamp instead, you can easily earn your first generous commission...

"Too new" to make any money yet? Think again!

I know that many of you may be thinking, just as I were too: "I don't have any sales yet... Heck, I don't have a website yet and I hardly know what I am doing, how can I tell others about my "success" with Wealthy Affiliate?" I thought I had to wait about a year or so, until I have something to show, to proof that this really works.

But in the training, Kyle gives the advise to just share with our friends and family the journey that we are on and to show them what it is that we are learning. Amazing advise (once again), thank you Kyle! ;-)

I hear the fisherman in my life has a similar concept, he calls it "fish your feet first". Meaning that before attempting for the fish that is far out there, first just see what is here right in front of you. And even my dear Hubby-fisherman has sometimes surprised himself by following his own advise.

Not that I planned to follow either Kyle nor Hubby's advise, since I had an overdose of MLM and Network Marketing schemes that always tried to get access to one's circle of family and friends. So these days I don't involve my friends and family, (I learned fairly fast), but you know, a good product don't need much advertising, it sells itself!

"What are you doing?"

So when my "sister" (the one that's married to my brother - okay-okay, she's my sister-in-law if you insist) ;-) asked what I am studying on the internet, I told her about Wealthy Affiliate and gave a brief description of what I'm up to.

She asked a few more questions, I forwarded a few Wealthy Affiliate blogpost links from the lovely and successful people here at Wealthy Affiliate (using my affiliate link) and what happens next?

I open my email on Sunday morning and *Ding!* goes my Inbox:

Don't you love it when you get an email like that? :-)

So my Sis signed up for a Free Wealthy Affiliate Membership Account and took the system for a "test drive" for a few days... And like anybody who is a Member here knows - if you go through the lessons and start building your website, then it is almost a no-brainer to realize the value of what is really offered here!

And then within another few days, I got the next email! :-) *Ding!*

She has gone Premium and paid her first month of $19... Exciting! :-)

Well, she was too excited to wait out the full first month... (it runs in the "family" okay) :-) and a few days later, my Inbox went *Ding!* again!

Was I excited?

No, I wasn't.

.... .... .... I was BEYOND excited! :-) LOL! Gotcha! :-)

Earning online - without even having a website!

Getting traffic to my website and getting strangers to find my website and to buy from it, was never a concern for me. We've build a website in 2011 and made some sales on it from total strangers (but we abandoned that website - you can read WHY in my first blog post). So I knew there was money to be made on the internet and I knew we can do it.

But to see that other people can look at Wealthy Affiliate and can also recognize the value of this opportunity, THAT was what excited me!

And that I could earn a commission, without even having a live website of my own yet.... (C'mon, you read that sentence toooooo fast, read it again slowly!) Yip, without even having a live Wealthy Affiliate promoting website of my own yet! THAT is what was super exciting to me!

It was nothing like MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) or Network Marketing, I didn't have to convince anybody or fabricate stories (not that I have ever done THAT) - no - there are so many success stories here on Wealthy Affiliate, that we are graciously allowed to refer people to, using our own affiliate links! WOW!

Myth busted! Just do it!

So yes, dear newbie Wealthy Affiliate friends, if you ever thought that you needed your own website before you can start sharing your excitement about Wealthy Affiliate and start earning commissions - wait no more.

Next time when one of your friends asks what you are doing on the internet, say: "I'll send you a link!" and then send them your affiliate link to a few of the blogposts, trainings and success stories here on Wealthy Affiliate!
