Did we get sued and we lost?
I was going about my day as usual, minding my own business when I came across a Wealthy affilate negative review submitted by someone on Ripoff.
I have seen this particular review before so I was just about to close the page when I noticed another review underneath it.
I was alarmed at the tilte which read thus, Wealthy Affiliate Was Sued, and Lost...
Wha What? Ok this was written in January of this year. So I fugure, top notch affiliates here must have already seen it.
I don't know how it made you feel but I panicked. Then I did the belly breathing thing to calm myself down. Then I started thinking....
Were else to get this all straighten out.
So here is my question, is this really true or is it just another tactic to discreadit Wealthy affiliate by the Competition?
Did MOBE really sue Wealthy Affiliatre?

Do not panic.. many people try to discredit wealthy affiliate but this platform is solid and within all legal requirements. Hopefully Kyle or Carson will add to this blog post.
With Grace and Gratitude

I hope they add to this post. Because the accusation is serious. I love Wealthy Affiliate for how they have empowered me and made me a confident person.
I'm proud to tell my family and friends about Wealthy Affiliate and I want to get the facts straight.
I just did a quick Google search on "MOBE lawsuit.".
One of the first entries that came up on my search was an article posted on the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) website (ftc.gov).
"The Federal Trade Commission has charged three individuals and nine businesses with bilking more than $125 million from thousands of consumers with a fraudulent business education program called MOBE (“My Online Business Education”). A federal court halted the scheme and froze the defendants’ assets at the FTC’s request.".
The article went on to explain how MOBE is alleged to have defraudied their students.
This US goverment site is credible enough, in my mind, that I have opted to not to spend anymore time researching this matter. (My niche isn't exposing scams.).
MOBE may have tried to sue WA, but I seriously doubt they won. Obviously the FTC has NOT shut down WA.
Thanks for your research, Sondra. I was thinking of you recently. How's life up there in the mile high poultry business?
Thanks for this research. I feel much better now. I can refute the negative post on ripoff now with confidence.
I just realized that I didn't post the date of the FTC Press release.
On June 11, 2018, the FTC issued the press release, "FTC Halts MOBE, a Massive Internet Business Coaching Scheme."
Hi Mike,
I've had a super busy summer/year with the ranch, real estate and my online business activities. I hope you are doing well.
Good factual information about MOBE...your last paragraph...except for the fact that WA is going strong....is just opinion. Still don't know if WA lost a lawsuit. But it doesn't matter to me. I know I'm getting value from my membership.

@DebbieRose
You are correct, my last paragraph is my opinion. I just ran another quick search and still have not found any information about a MOBE lawsuit against Wealthy Affiliate or about them having prevailed in a lawsuit.
Like you, I feel like I am getting value from my membership.

I appreciate you raising providing the information and raising the question and thanks to Sondra for doing all of the research. I had not heard anything about a lawsuit against WA and I would hope that we would hear from Kyle or Carson to provide any clarification.
