I'm supposed to take a break but I don't want to!

I'm banging through the Bootcamp training and boy do I love it. I did the Entrepeneur training first and built a site while going through that training. I started my second site when I started the bootcamp.

You Want Me to do WHAT?

I'm on Phase 4 of the Bootcamp training - right at the end of Phase Three it's recommended to take 20 days off.

My brain almost exploded when I read that. "What? Are you crazy? I can't take off 20 days." The saving grace was that it's not supposed to be 20 days of not touching your sites. It's 20 days of building. I think I can probably handle that but I'm one of those eager beavers. I just want to be creating and learning new things all the time.

How Many Posts do I need to Gain Traction?

The other thing that motivates me is that I read just today that you need about minimum 400 posts to even begin to see results when marketing something like WA. Is this true? What would you veterans out there advise regarding this? I don't know if I can even think of 400 posts to create without be too boring and repetitious which is also a very concerning thing for me. How do you keep your site going and going? I think I just need to learn more and do more training so I can find out.

If you've asked yourself these questions and found the answers please tell me!!!

In the meantime thanks to all of you who have commented on my pages, written blogs with your own experiences and insights and just generally thanks for being part of my community. I'm just loving it here!

Thank you for sharing Tara, l do a lot of research and l also use Jaaxy. Wishing you all the best!

I love Jaaxy and find it to be an amazing tool. So thankful for it and I'm glad you've stopped by and offer me some tips too!

You are welcome!

When you are motivated on gaining momentum, it is hard to put on the brakes. Yes, we all face that. It is a combination of quality x quantity. If you have great keywords and authoritative articles, you may generate traffic from those, otherwise the number of articles with fewer traffic per article also gets you that traffic. So, a combination of both is necessary. Niche also plays a role, if it is a competitive niche, then the numbers will be higher. Well done, you are doing great!

Thanks so much for stopping by to give some advice I really appreciate it!

Getting comments (use SiteComments) is one of the things that can spark new ideas for your blog - whether it's a product review or how-to posts. These can serve as good internal links that make your articles relevant to readers as well as Google.

Hi Cathy,
Thanks for the tip! I’ve been using siteComments and have really enjoyed reading other members blogs. You are right, this is a great way to get ideas. Thank you!

Hi Tara,

Keep up the enthusiasm! Don't let it wane.

Where did you read that you'd need at least 400 posts?

Sounds right. though.

Affiliate Marketing is such a competitive niche, so to rank for those associated KWs will be incredibly difficult. Just think of how many people from WA alone who are targeting this niche.

That said, if you knuckle down, pump out high-quality articles and build up high-quality backlinks. In time, you will get your piece of the pie. It'll just take a lot longer than if you were targeting a less competitive niche such as, say, 'Pressure Cookers'.

As far as coming up with 400 posts. That's easy! I've got a list of 600 titles (and growing) that I've prepared for my writers. Just do your research.

For example, for just the term 'Search Engine Optimization' you could write hundreds of articles. Just spy on the top dogs in your niche and you'll find endless ideas.

If you are seriously going to compete, you'll need to start outsourcing your content. It's the best way to scale your blog post output.

This is a business, so at some point, you must invest, especially if you want to go toe to toe with the bigger players.

Anyway, don't stop posting. If you stop posting, then you'll be drowned by the sheer volume of new posts and players in this niche.

Best of luck,
John

Hi John,

Thanks for the great ideas to help me along with generating more content. I’ll most certainly give that a try!

I appreciate the encouragement!

Cheers!
T

Your success rate really depends on the products you choose to write about and other variables. 400 is a lot of posts, but I believe you can earn a full time income promoting WA with fewer posts than that. The 400 mark is what it seems to take some folks to qualify for Vegas.

As for repetition... YUP, reviews are repetitive. But just try to mix things up a little (I.e. make introductions differenty, throw in some humour, etc).

You can actually have a lot of fun with some reviews.

Say you're reviewing a product like 'Padlock Income', for example.

You could say "here's my review of Padlock Income - where I'm about to unlock the truth. Is it the golden key to making money?...." Etc.

So there's plenty of opportunity for word play and creativity to liven up your reviews instead of using the old boring lines of "is this legit or a scam?..." :)

P.S. I agree, the 20 day break is too much. I'd shorten it to 2 days.

You need the edge ;)

Ha I’m so glad that you agree with me that 20 days is long! I also really enjoy your sense of humour:) Thanks for stopping by and answering my questions.

Lol :P

Glad you like it Tara :) I think being more creative with our reviews sets us a part from the crowd. It may possibly lead to better conversions. Who knows. You could try using funny images and even GIFs, as I've seen some bloggers do.

No problemo, Tara!

"where I'm about to unlock the truth. Is it the golden key to making money?"

Very humorous, love it.
