How to understand Affiliate Marketing, and is it different from Online Marketing, or are they both the same?
Affiliate marketing is where you are an affiliate for a company and promote their products on your website to earn commissions. It all depends on your niche as to what type of affiliates you would do business with.
Online marketing can also be a means of promoting products. It is just a broad term for all types of marketing done online.

With affiliate marketing you earn commissions from the sale of products belonging to someone else. You promote the products on your website, include a link to the product and earn commission for the sale.
Online Marketing is general term used for marketing anything online.
The benefit of affiliate marketing is you don't have inventory, shipping, returns and all the other headaches that come with trying to market your own products.

Thank you! Should we say we do affiliate marketing so people don't have to ask what kind of marketing if we say online marketing. Or is it best to just say online marketing since we are marketing on our websites?
Either one is fine. Affiliate Marketing is more specific but it's entirely up to you.

online marketing is a huge term. You can make a comparison to niche marketing. For example health and fitness is a huge market and broad market where you can find tons of niches in. The same goes for online marketing with online marketing being the huge market and affiliate marketing a niche in that market.
The great thing with affiliate marketing is that you can get started with very little money and the opportunities are endless. On the other hand it's very competitive and you have to work at it just as hard as you would do with anything else you would want to be successful in. Best of luck, O
Ok thanks! So basically online marketing is like the tree and affiliate marketing is a branch? Correct me if I am wrong! Not sure if that makes any sense, but that was the only thing I could think of right now.

I think that is a GREAT analogy! I would consider affiliate marketing to be a branch.
