Thanks, I'm still trying to get the hang of manipulating these websites, but I'm having fun in the process. I foresee lots of quick websites for short-term events, just to get the hang of it. Do you have a particular theme you like working with?

That is honestly a subjective decision. There are thousands and so many have different plugin (compatibility) concerns, along with widget variety. I would first draft on paper an outline of the website that I believe I would like to present. Simple sketch will work. Next, I would try to think about what I would like to have happen within the website such as; (1) allow people to interact (blog and reply), (2) join a newsletter that you may desire to create, (3) contact form so visitors can leave messages or check areas of interest that you may be able to share with them... These are some considerations you may want to give thought to. There are so many other options, but it truly depends on what your "niche" is and how much you want to interact within your website. Sometimes, a blog is enough for people and is considered a form of website also.
The training provided within WA is so helpful and I believe it can assist you to better understand. Review the video training, ask a few questions where you need to, and sketch what you believe you would "enjoy and like to do" online. I hope this helps you.
