Could this be? I have just experienced my first little taste of success! I was just accepted into the affiliate program of my favorite book publisher. Weeeee!!! I have to admit, the more you know here, the more you know you don't know. While I wanted to be accepted into affiliate programs, I do feel the urgency to learn as much as I can now more than ever, so as not to disappoint the advertiser and lose my chance to represent them. I have to learn to track traffic, to get more traffic, to be integral as to what other advertisers I allow on my site, to blog often, to learn to neaten up my site and track it properly. And a million other things. Yes it is just one acceptance, but for this newb, it means the world. I can't even imagine how exciting those first few pennies are!

While this may be a small success, this is what has to happen. I have realized through quiet contemplation and much prayer and open-mindedness, that there are hills and valleys, mountains and obstacles. We get tired of hearing it's all in our attitude, because we think, yeah but what about that mountain! That was a real mountain, attitude or not! But what is becoming clear is that with the right attitude, with quiet contemplation and patience, you can move that mountain behind you, one step at a time. It's attitude that stops us at the bottom, instead of McGyvering a way around it!

I love images. There is one I came across in the social media somewhere, that I like to keep in mind. How many times have we begun with some huge idea that we are all excited about, only to stop mid way, or even before mid way? My new favorite image which I speak of illustrates how we expect the plan to be a straight and narrow path to short time success, as long as our idea is good enough. But in reality, that path is full of valleys and rainstorms.

Thank you for reading this blog. May your frustrations be few and your valleys be small, may your rainstorms be yielding however, may your path not be too straight and easy, because being willing to push on with faith, silence, non-expectation and gratitude, will earn you the healthiest rewards. Remember the water that overcomes stone, even though it is the gentle one. It's that which persists gently in faith, that moves mountains behind him.
