Noticed the changes inside Google Analytics?

I am just curious to know if anyone else noticed the changes inside of Google Analytics and wondering what your experience is with it thus far? I will also point out the specific questions that I have in regards to this and the issues that I am experiencing currently.

New Google Analytics Home Interface

Old Google Analytics Home Interface

First thing I noticed is in regards to my tracking ID. Instead of tracking id's having UA- in front of it, it is now simply numbers that contains no letters. I am not sure if this is different when you already have a website added in Google Console and then hit the upgrade button to upgrade to the new system, but this is what happened for me when I added a new website to Google Console. No more UA- in front of the tracking ID, but simply a bunch of numbers.

Is the new tracking ID causing problems?

Now this is a question that I have on my mind. What led to me asking this question is that I tried to install Monsterinsights (integrates with Google Analytics and also takes care of GDPR compliance) and the new website I added to my Google Console was not recognised by Monsterinsights, so I was not able to connect my new website to Monsterinsights.

You see the way that Monsterinsights connect is by you specifying your gmail account and then Monsterinsights picks up your websites that are submitted/associated within/with your Google Console. You can then select from a drop down box which one of your websites you would like to connect to Monsterinsights.

Is the reason Monsterinsights are not detecting this website perhaps due to it not recognising the new tracking id's rolled out by Google within your Google Console? Or is there perhaps another reason for it?

Monsterinsights was just used as an example. This however beckons the question if some other plugins may also now have issues with the recognition of the new tracking ID's rolled out by Google Console? Just for some clarity, I am speculating here. I am not a 100% sure that the new format of the tracking ID is the cause. I am just letting you know my thought process, as I am looking for answers from others that may perhaps know the answer to this question.

Is The New Google Analytics Interface Displaying Your Data Within 24 Hours?

As you can see in the screenshot above my Google Analytics dashboard is displaying 0 information and it has been more than 24 hours now. In fact we are heading towards 48 hours now and yet zero statistics are showing up. I checked with WA support also and they assured me that the website is set up correctly within Google Console and Google Analytics.

I would have expected to see data within 24 hours as this is what used to be the case when adding a site to Google Console and Google Analytics. Can anyone provide me with clarity on whether this is also happening for you? Is Google also taking its time to display data for you within the new Google Analytics dashboard after submitting a new website to Google Console?

Another question I have is in regards to those that already have websites connected to Google Console and decided to hit the upgrade button in Google Analytics to upgrade to the new interface. I am yet to hit my upgrade button. Has anyone hit that upgrade button yet? (It will say Upgrade to GA4). And when you did so, what happened? Does data display for you immediately or is your interface also displaying zero data after hitting that upgrade button? Also did your tracking ID change when you hit the upgrade button or does UA- still appear as part of your tracking number? This will be very interesting to know.

Please do comment below if you have any information regarding the new update of Google Console and Google Analytics that I and others may find helpful. Comments in general are of course also welcome as always.

Wishing you all the very best of online success!

Oh, I am so happy you have shared this post tbh as I don't feel so alone with my Google analytics issues now.

Instead of adding the configure tag and only added the last line to my current script, I deleted my old writing and copy and paste the whole new script what suppose to record better. I was excited as I didn't feel like the current readings were that accurate.
I had nothing but issues after. I experience the following problems:
- every page visitors go to, get counted double
-my bounce rate is most of the time 0, and never higher than20

So the whole analytics is pretty much useless, for me as the data is just incorrect and I have no idea how to fix it.

I thought perhaps I made a mistake adding the script and site support ended op putting it in straight in the head of the website, but nothing makes a different.

I hope thing to get resolved soon, do you get readings yet?

Edit- I didn't use the upgrade button in google analytics though, where do I find it? Perhaps I shouldn't use it though🙈,

Best wishes,
Jude

Still zero readings lol. And you can't miss it. Simply go to Google Analytics and click on admin tab bottom left and then you will see bang in the middle at the very top right under "properties" it will state upgrade to GA4.

See screenshot.

Ok, thanks I check it out. However, I feel hesitate now lol.

Google announced some changes with google analytics, I guess we will get used to them. I did not notice anything big apart from the layout.

Did you hit the upgrade button inside of Google Analytics? It says upgrade to GA4. And if you did, did your statistics in Google Analytics show up immediately or did yours also gone blank like mine?

I did and it is still blank

How long ago have you hit that upgrade button if I may ask?
