The reason for doing so is
Schalk, I saw Phil giving you the answers on your blog post. Did that work? I did see somewhere I read that Gutenburg editor has a video block, if you use that, you can embed the video. Can you screenshot it on here in the so we can see it? You can screenshot only in the comment box.
Hi Brenda, the screenshots are all in this article: Gutenberg Video Submission Solution In Articles?
Brenda I think this happens during lazy load. So probably if I choose not to lazy load then that won't happen. But then it will slow down my load speed dramatically. Not sure what the solution is. Can even be that whatever solution I use here to lazy load the video may respond different if I use a different solution perhaps to lazy load it. Not sure.
Hi Brenda, thanks. But if you check the article I shared a screenshot of the exact same aspect ratio you mentioned - that is what I have posted via html within my article, so I honestly don't know what the solution is. I bet if I don't lazy load it the problem will be solved. May test that in a bit, but is of course not really a solution.
Yes I now checked. Now that I am no longer lazy loading it I see exactly the way it should be displaying correctly. So got to do with the plugin that is doing the video lazy load. Problem sort of solved now. Thanks! As at least I now know where to look for the problem.
Haha lol yes it is semi-solved. Videos loading on your article is very intensive and will slow down load speed of article dramatically. The plugin I use have a multi-faceted function, so not that easy to just replace it. I think the lazy load image generated size is just slightly out and probs to do with the plugin lazy load image generation size being just slightly out.
Oh well I am going to make an exception of that article page and disable lazy load there. This issue does not happen if the thumbnail background image has colour. If it is a white background, then it happens.
Brenda on even further investigation the plugin I use - on top of its video lazy load functionality it also has an additional function called youtube thumbnail previews which can be activated and cuts down on loading time by up to an addditional 64% really boosting loading performance. But this is this function that causes the issue. So I just deactivated that for a better user experience instead but still able to lazy load videos now via this plugin.
Hi, many thanks, but this is not the adding of an image. This is the adding of a video via YouTube url or html code and the thumbnail it generates has a black line at the top and a black line at the bottom and there seems to be no remedy for this when the YouTube thumbnail has a white background.
Thanks, much appreciated but I don't believe site support deals with such issues. They only deal with hosting issues.

Hello Schalk,
I don't know if it will help, but I'm using the "Presto Player"-plugin for WordPress and there you have a lot of possibilities. I have changed all my videos with this plugin and it is great!
Best regards,
It's totally free and you can customize many things. See my website: https://topfishinggadgets.com
Let me know what you think about it. (Presto Player)
Hi Peter. I had a look. Looks very nice. However, I am always wondering how does it affect load speed of web page or article? Is that all good? Also wondering where are the videos uploaded or are they not uploaded at all when for example playing a YouTube video via Presto Player? Is it uploaded to your actual WordPress or the third party platform Presto? If so how much upload space do you have as a free user? Also if it is uploaded to your WordPress does it slow things down? Just some questions I always consider when looking into something that looks great. Many thanks!
As far as I know, the videos are played like you should play a YouTube video (without download), but maybe you have that possibility. You should have a look in the "View Details" for that plugin.
I really don't know if there is a limit but I think I already have +500 videos... Just give it a try, you can always delete it...
